    Abstract: A wheel speed detector for detecting a relative rotating speed between an outer ring and an inner ring by means of a magnetic sensor in association with a magnetic ring. A stationary seal member is fixed to the stationary ring and a rotatable seal member is fixed to the rotatable ring. The seal members engage to seal a gap between the inner ring and the outer ring. The magnetic sensor is fixed to a radial inner surface of the stationary seal member and the magnetic ring is fixed to a radial outer or a radial inner surface of the rotatable seal member and surfaces of the magnetic ring other than that fixed to the radial inner surface of the rotatable seal member are covered with a seal lip.

Therefore, a portion of lubricating oil supplied from oil supply holes (13) in the integral outer ring (2) passes the oil vents (20) via the axially outward row of the conical rollers (7), and will be returned to a space in a housing (1) by way of a channel (31) in the housing (1). In conclusion, a circulating path of the lubricating oil through the outward row of the conical rollers (7) can be formed by the oil vents (20).

    Abstract: A contact angle (&agr;) of a row of tapered rollers (7) on a pinion shaft 1 is set to be 30°, and made larger than a contact angle (&bgr;) of a row of tapered rollers (8) which is 20°. This decreases a distribution of load in a radial direction on the row of the tapered rollers (7), and increases a distribution of load in a radial direction on the row of the tapered rollers (8). In this manner, the load in the radial direction on the row of the tapered rollers (7) and the load in the radial direction on the row of the tapered rollers (8) are made close to each other, so that unbalance of the loads in the radial direction between the two rows of the tapered rollers (7, 8) can be moderated, thus improving the supporting rigidity and the life.
