  • Patent number: 9138224
Abstract: A bending method for a straight needle-shaped material which has a thickness decreased from a body portion to a needle point that is inserted between a roller having a processing surface and a belt and is wound around the roller via a separating member. Then the roller is rotated and the belt is wound, thereby pressing and curving the straight needle-shaped material onto the processing surface. In a suture needle, a portion of a tip side including the needle point is formed as a non-restricted portion which is not restricted by the processing surface of the roller, and a portion except for the non-restricted portion is formed as a curved portion which is bent along the processing surface of the roller.

  • Publication number: 20130172930
Abstract: When a biotissue is sutured using a curved medical suture needle, the penetration resistance becomes uniform. In a bending method, a straight needle-shaped material which has a thickness decreased from a body portion to a needle point is inserted between a roller having a processing surface and a belt wound around the roller via a separating member, and then the roller is rotated and the belt is winded, thereby pressing and curving the straight needle-shaped material onto the processing surface. In a suture needle, a portion of a tip side including the needle point is formed as a non-restricted portion which is not restricted by the processing surface of the roller, and a portion except for the non-restricted portion is formed as a curved portion which is bent along the processing surface of the roller.

  • Patent number: 8028870
Abstract: In an eyeless sewing needle, a periphery of an axial hole at the base end is heated to make a fibrous structure be a granular structure without directionality, and at least a part of a heat-affected zone made between the fibrous structure and the granular structure due to the heating is within a range that is three times the diameter of the sewing needle and that extends from an effective base of the axial hole towards the needlepoint. This allows provision of a flexible sewing needle so that the hole periphery can be processed while keeping a hard state at the position of the needlepoint slightly away from the axial hole.

  • Publication number: 20110200964
Abstract: A stainless steel bur, which can cut minute depressions etc. and even healthy dentin when necessary, allowing a technician to detect when cutting the healthy dentin is provided. It includes a removable handle (11) connected to a hand piece on the base side, a working section (12) to which a cutting blade for cutting teeth is attached to the tip, and the working section and the handle are connected to a tapered intermediate section (13). This steel bur is formed into a fiber structure by hardening austenitic stainless steel through wire drawing. Since the tapered part bends and generates vibrations when the working section is rotated to cut healthy dentin, it can be understood that the healthy dentin is being cut, and excessive cutting may be prevented. Alternatively, excessive cutting may be prevented by processing from the maximum diameter of the working section to the tip thereof through etching or the like to round cutting blade edge and make a blunt edge.

  • Patent number: 7977603
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an eyeless needle by which a satisfactory hole can be formed in the end surface of a fine suture needle having a needle diameter less than 150 micrometers is proposed. In a method for manufacturing an eyeless needle by forming a hole for inserting and fixing one end of a suture thread by caulking in the end surface of the eyeless suture needle made of stainless steel, the hole is formed by irradiating the end surface of a needle material thicker by 6 to 20 micrometers than a desired needle diameter of the suture needle less than 150 micrometers with one shot of a laser beam, and subsequently, a portion thicker than the desired needle diameter is removed by electrolytic polishing or chemical polishing.

  • Patent number: 7789730
Abstract: A tapered cutting edge portion and a continuous raised portion from the tapered cutting edge portion are ground in an edge portion of a straight grinding raw material so that an eccentricity is not generated. In a method for grinding a treatment device, one end portion of a tapered grinding raw material is inserted between a grinding surface of a grindstone and a pressing surface of a press block, and finishing surfaces opposite each other while having a predetermined dimension, shape, and angle are ground so that a direction in which abrasive grains of the grindstone run corresponds to a direction of a shaft center. At this point, before the finishing surfaces are ground in the predetermined dimension, shape, and angle which are previously set corresponding to an objective reamer, pre-grinding is performed while a necessary finishing margin with respect to at least one of the surfaces, and then finishing grinding is performed to the other surface.

  • Publication number: 20100092919
Abstract: The present invention provides a dental grinding bur with a coating material on an identification part that does not peel off easily and does not require formation of a groove in order to apply the coating material on the identification part. It includes a rod-shaped base 11, a grinding part 11b, which is at the tip of the base and fixated with abrasive grains, and an identification part 11a, which is at the periphery of the base adjacent to a grinding part and coated with an insulating, pigmented coating material. The identification part 11a has a uniform circumferential thickness, and the central portion of the identification part 11a is coated to be in a thick mountain-shaped curve. Consequently, forming of a groove for applying the coating material in the identification part is not needed, and the coating material on the identification part does not peel off easily.
