  • Patent number: 4874727
Abstract: A particulate lead titanate ceramic obtained by calcining a mixture containing TiO.sub.2 and PbO at 1150.degree.-1300.degree. C., the proportion of the PbO being greater than 1 mole per mole of the TiO.sub.2. A composite material having the particulate lead titanate ceramic supported in an organic substrate exhibits improved piezoelectric properties and is useful as a piezoelectric element or pyroelectric element.

  • Patent number: 4869111
Abstract: A cyclic fatigue testing apparatus intended for testing the cyclic fatigue of samples such as ceramic or the like, in which it comprises a vibration plate assembly comprising a flex plate provided with piezoelectric element layer(s) on at least one surface thereof, a sample supporting member disposed on the vibration plate for supporting the sample and a loading member for forcing the samnple onto the supporting member. The apparatus can operate over a wide frequency range by adjusting the position of the sample supporting member with respect to the flex plate and selecting the frequency of an alternating voltage to be applied to each piezoelectric element layer.

  • Patent number: 4773218
Abstract: A pulse-actuated hydraulic pump includes a hydraulic chamber with a bellows having a volume increased or decreased by the selective application a force in an axial direction thereof by a piezoelectric actuator. Control means control electrically-driven valves to selective discharge fluid from the bellows in precisely controllable volumes through a first pumping port or a second pumping port.

  • Patent number: 4684843
Abstract: In a piezo-resonator in which the resonator cavity is coated with a resinous insulator, a lip which defines a ridge for the mounting of the terminal strips to the resonator is fused to the outer surface of the strips. The seal produced thereby prevents resin from invading the resonator cavity during the resin coating process.

  • Patent number: 4651046
Abstract: A piezoelectric scanning device comprises X-direction and Y-direction piezoelectric drive sections coupled to mutually perpendicular Z-direction piezoelectric clamping members. The selective application of voltages to the piezoelectric elements included in the X-direction and Y-direction drive sections and the Z-direction clamping members enables movement of the scanning device in two directions.
