  • Patent number: 8380670
Abstract: A document is stored at each of a number of database replicas communicatively connected with a newly created database replica. The newly created database replica stores an indicator for the document denoting the database replicas at which the document is stored. A probable time to retrieve the document from each database replica is retrievable from the newly created database replica. For each database replica, a real-time analysis of network parameters in relation to the database replica is able to be performed based on the probable time retrieved. This analysis yields an updated probable time to retrieve the document from the database replica. This enables the document to be retrieved from the database replica having the lowest updated probable time.

  • Patent number: 8229890
Abstract: A document stored at each of a number of database replicas communicatively connected with a current database replica is desired to be opened. The current database replica is initially opened. The current database replica stores an indicator for the document denoting the database replicas at which the document is stored. A probable time to retrieve the document from each database replica is retrieved from the current database replica. For each database replica, a real-time analysis of network parameters in relation to the database replica is performed based on the probable time retrieved. This analysis yields an updated probable time to retrieve the document from the database replica. The document is thus retrieved from the database replica having the lowest updated probable time.

  • Patent number: 7941400
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program for maintaining a state of a document in a document-centric model to maintain a task across systems with the document. Exemplary embodiments include a method for maintaining a state of a document in a document-centric model to maintain a task across systems with the document, the method including opening the document on a first device, loading and rendering the document on the first device, activating a first plugin on the first device, checking the document for a marker record in a first marker registry database associated with the first device, performing scrolling operations to position a view of the user at a specified location as defined in the marker entry and performing a synchronization between the first device and a second device, the synchronization including transferring the marker entry to a second marker registry database associated with the second device.

  • Publication number: 20100211580
Abstract: A method of sharing data between wired properties associated with disparate data types includes receiving a first specification for dividing data items having a first data type published by an output property of a first service task into a first set of sub-units and a second specification for dividing data items having a second data type consumed an input property of a second service task into a second set of sub-units; receiving transformation logic for transforming data items divided into the first set of sub-units to data items divided into the second set of sub-units; dividing a first data item published by the output property into the first set of sub-units; applying the transformation logic to transform the divided first item to a second data item divided into the second set of sub-units; and joining the divided second data item.

  • Publication number: 20090199126
Abstract: A method of automatically organizing toolbars on a user interface for a software application includes calculating an amount of free space in the first toolbar row of the user interface, determining a size of a toolbar in a second toolbar row of the user interface, and automatically moving the tool bar from the second tool bar row to the free space in the first tool bar row if the amount of free space in the first toolbar row is greater than the size of the toolbar. Moving the toolbar to the first toolbar row maximizes available free space for an application window of the computer application.
