  • Patent number: 4626295
Abstract: A brazing method is disclosed which provides superior strength in the brazed joint formed. The brazed structure is subjected to a heat treatment after brazing, which improves the strength of the joint even if Magnesium compounds are employed.

  • Patent number: 4158380
Abstract: A continuously casting machine is provided with structure for agitating under action of magnetic force the molten steel in a slab drawn from a mold. The agitating device comprises permanent magnet groups arranged on both surfaces of the longitudinal sides of the slab and extending from the part directly below the mold to the completely solidified part of the slab. Direct current is passed to the molten steel in the slab, thereby providing the agitating force under the mutual action of a stationary magnetic field and direct current to the molten steel.

  • Patent number: 4102694
Abstract: A refractory material for repairing blast furnaces, which is composed of 100 parts by weight of a base material chiefly consisting of at least one powdery refractory material selected from the group consisting of SiO.sub.2, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, MgO, Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3, ZrO.sub.3, CaO and FeO.sub.2 and containing, if necessary, 0.5 to 5.0 parts by weight of iron ore powder, fibrous metal or inorganic substance, 4 to 40 parts by weight of a bituminous material consisting of a petroleum pitch or coal tar pitch in the solid, or liquid phase with a softening point ranging from 70 to 250.degree. C, and 10 to 35 parts by weight of a liquid oil consisting of a mineral oil, fish oil or vegetable oil and containing, if necessary, 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a thermosetting synthetic resin, thermosoftening synthetic resin or natural resin.

  • Patent number: 4065297
Abstract: A process for dephosphorizing molten pig iron by adding (a) lime, converter slag and/or iron oxide, (b) iron oxide and/or oxidizing gas, and if necessary (c) flourspar and/or soda ash to the molten pig iron stored in a treating vessel in order to adjust the amount of % CaO to correspond to 0.3 to 3.0 times the sum of the amounts of % SiO.sub.2 and % P.sub.2 O.sub.5 and to adjust the amount of total iron to 15 to 50%, in the slag composition after treatment, thereby obtaining a high dephosphorization.
