  • Patent number: 11830370
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses provided for predicting a Mach Tuck situation. The method includes generating a flight plan for the aircraft of at least one supersonic flight path segment in accordance with a flight plan criteria entered via an input interface wherein the aircraft traverses at least one supersonic flight path segment at an airspeed approaching or exceeding a supersonic airspeed; predicting based on an impact of a weather condition forecast to occur at a selected region of the supersonic flight path segment while the aircraft is operating at the airspeed approaching or exceeding the supersonic speed that an overpressure condition will occur causing an aerodynamic effect to the aircraft that results in the aircraft exceeding an operating limitation causing the Mach Tuck situation; and modifying the flight plan in a manner to lessen the impact of the weather condition forecast to occur to prevent the Mach Tuck situation.

  • Patent number: 11733712
Abstract: Methods and systems for generating a vertical situation display for a noise abatement departure procedure (NADP). Other NADP relevant displays are also disclosed including display of NADP parameters on altitude tape and primary flight displays, an NADP bug on an engine display and NADP status annunciations. The methods and systems include receiving NADP parameters entered into a flight management system (FMS) on a user interface of the aircraft system. The NADP parameters include: an initial altitude at which take-off thrust should be reduced to NADP thrust, an acceleration altitude at which the aircraft should begin accelerating to a final take-off speed whilst maintaining the NADP thrust, a climb excitement altitude at which a speed target is changed to the final take-off speed whilst maintaining the NADP thrust, and an end altitude at which the NADP should be exited.

  • Patent number: 11676499
Abstract: Methods and system for alerting a Visual Decent Point (VDP) in an aircraft system. The methods and systems retrieve runway altitude data and Minimum Descent Altitude (MDA) data from an avionics database for a target runway. Data in the avionics database for the target runway does not include a published VDP. The method includes calculating the VDP based on a difference between the runway altitude data and the MDA so as to achieve a target downward acceptable glidepath angle during final descent from the MDA to the target runway. The method includes outputting an alert of the VDP by an output device of the aircraft system.

  • Patent number: 10565886
Abstract: Systems and methods directed to evaluating potential loss of separation are provided. The method continuously receives a host status data, as well as traffic flight information for neighbor traffic. Responsive to a controller pilot data link communication (CPDLC) message with a flight profile change, the method continues by processing the host aircraft status data and the traffic flight information, to (i) construct a modified host flight path based on incorporating the host profile change without delay, and (ii) construct a neighbor aircraft trajectory for a neighbor aircraft. The method processes the modified host flight path and the neighbor aircraft trajectory with loss of separation (LOS) rules, to identify a potential loss of separation (LOS) event. Responsive to identifying the potential LOS event, the method continues by annunciating information describing the potential LOS and its location.

  • Publication number: 20090319944
Abstract: A display system, including a main window and a multi-control window, for displaying graphical data in a navigation display. The display system further includes one or more sensors for obtaining data regarding at least one of traffic targets, waypoints and craft trajectories. One or more processors are configured to receive the data from the one or more sensors and provide input to the display screen. The display screen is configured to display a portion of the data in the main window as a primary display view and another portion of the data in the multi-control window as a secondary display view. The primary display view and the secondary display view are interchangeable to display the data in different view modes.
