The head mounted display device includes a target detection unit that detects a target of the user in a visual line direction and a data acquisition unit that acquires data of the image displayed by the image display unit. The head mounted display device includes an image display control unit that allows the image to be displayed in a position in which the image is visually recognized by overlapping at least a part of the target detected by the target detection unit based on the data acquired by the data acquisition unit.
