  • Patent number: 7684149
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a magnetic head which assures an improved format efficiency without increase in the magnetic field intensity applied at a read element. In one embodiment, a magnetic head incorporates a write head having a main pole and an auxiliary pole, and a read head having a read element between reader shields. An auxiliary shield as a magnetic body is provided between the main pole and reader shields or on the opposite side of the main pole with the reader shields between the main pole and the auxiliary shield.

  • Patent number: 7606006
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a write head for perpendicular recording in which the magnetic field intensity applied at a read element is reduced with larger write-field gradients and the distance between a write element and a read element is small. In one embodiment, a pair of magnetic bodies for shielding a read element are provided on the leading and trailing sides of the read element respectively and whichever one of the two shields is the longer in the length from the air bearing surface is shorter than the length up to the back contact position PBK at which a main pole and an auxiliary pole are connected.

  • Patent number: 7483243
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a magnetic head which prevents data on a recording medium from being erased even when a stray field is applied. In one embodiment, a magnetic head includes a perpendicular write head having a main pole and an auxiliary pole; and a read head having a lower shield, an upper shield and a magneto-resistive element formed between the lower shield and the upper shield. At least one of the auxiliary pole, lower shield and upper shield has a recessed portion, whose height in an element height direction is lower than the height of edges thereof in a track width direction, on a surface opposite to the air bearing surface.

  • Patent number: 7426092
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a magnetic head which prevents data on a recording medium from being erased even when a stray field is applied. In one embodiment, an auxiliary pole is sandwiched between a stray-field shield composed of a magnetic layer recessed from the air bearing surface and a main pole. The stray-field shield may be formed on the leading side of the auxiliary pole. A face of the stray-field shield on a medium side may be recessed from an air-bearing-surface of the magnetic head.

  • Publication number: 20080212239
Abstract: A read sensor is disposed near a main pole, thereby reducing the distance between the read sensor and a write sensor. In this case, however, a magnetic field generated from the main pole affects magnetization of a free layer and a pinned layer of a magnetoresistive film, thereby causing the magnetizing directions to rotate, a magnetic barrier to be generated, and the read property to be degraded. According to the present invention, a main pole and a yoke configure a magnetic circuit together with a sub-pole and a soft magnetic under layer of the magnetic disk and an exciting coil magnetizes the magnetic circuit, thereby a recording magnetic field is applied to a recording layer to record information bits on the layer. And in order to sharpen the magnetic field distribution generated by the main pole, a trailing shield made of a ferromagnetic material is disposed at the trailing side of the main pole adjacently.

  • Patent number: 7351445
Abstract: The present invention is directed to carrying out a high density magnetic recording to a material having a large coercive force by perpendicular magnetic recording head. By giving a patterning onto a soft magnetic under layer of a perpendicular two-layer recording media in sync with a period of a recording bit, a magnetic field from a write head can be allowed to converge to a soft magnetic column. Therefore, a magnetization reversal of the magnetic recording media material having a large anisotropic constant becomes possible, and then a high density magnetic recording can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 6877154
Abstract: As to an object-oriented programming, reuse of softwares is enhanced and running speed is improved. There are made up a data element list in which pointers to data storage areas of object A are arranged and a pointer element list in which pointers to pointer storage areas of object B are arranged. A combination of the data element list and the pointer element list makes it possible to directly refer to data of the object A from the object B.

Object-oriented programming is performed by displaying objects connected by wirings that represent the flow of data, control or messages from one object to a second object. A coupling of input and output terminal so that objects is shown by displaying a wiring between the terminals. A coupling structure is constructed in accordance with the wiring within an object hierarchy, so that instructions to rearrange, duplicate or replace objects may be permitted. The display is preferably divided into domains, for the respective display of the objects and the wiring.
