    Abstract: A storage device includes a command reception unit and a control unit. The command reception unit is configured for communication with a host device to receive a command from the host device, and transmit a completion report to the host device upon completion of processing requested in the command. The control unit is configured to determine a threshold amount of time to wait after the command reception unit receives the command before causing the command reception unit to transmit the completion report, and to cause the command reception unit to transmit the completion report after waiting a period of time after completion of the processing, if the processing completes before the threshold amount of time has elapsed since reception of the command.

    Abstract: A head suspension assembly includes a head suspension, a load beam having a protrusion, a flexure attached to a surface of the head suspension at a back surface of the flexure and a support plate defined on the flexure. A head slider is secured to the support plate. The support plate and head slider are secured to the load beam over the protrusion. The support plate extends outward from a contour of the head slider, and has at least two openings corresponding to desired locations of corners of the head slider, and a window formed in the head suspension behind the flexure, so that the head slider can be accurately aligned with respect to the openings when the head slider is adhered to the support plate.

    Abstract: A head arm holds a head that accesses information on the information recording medium and includes: a metal plate that plays at least part of a role of holding the head; and a lead unit, provided on the metal plate, electrically connected to the head, and through which a signal representing the information passes. The lead unit has a conductive wire section, mounted on the metal plate, where conductive wires including a first signal conductive wire through which a current corresponding to the signal heads for the head and a second signal conductive wire through which the current corresponding to the signal returns from the head are laminated. The first and second signal conductive wires are situated symmetrically with each other in the lamination direction. The lead unit also has a ground line, situated on the conductive wire section, whose electrical potential is equal to that of the metal plate.

    Abstract: A magnetic disk drive unit includes a slider having a transducer mounted on one end thereof, and a spring arm for biasing the slider toward a magnetic disk. A flexure is integrally formed on a distal end portion of the spring arm, and the slider is attached to a slider placing-section of the flexure. A slit extending in a direction generally at a right angle to a longitudinal direction of the slider is formed in the slider placing-section, so that a shrinking force of an adhesive agent is cut off by this slit, thereby preventing deformation of the slider caused by the shrinking force of the adhesive agent. A flexible printed-wiring board is attached to a back surface of the spring arm, and terminals of the transducer are connected to a printed-wiring board of the magnetic disk drive unit through this flexible printed-wiring board.
