  • Publication number: 20050213514
Abstract: Network traffic may be estimated using samples of network activities to identify traffic parameters. A model of the network may be generated using the traffic parameters, and the model can be used to simulate the network using a modified set of parameters. Network traffic may be managed using the results of the simulation. Network traffic can also be managed by intercepting and modifying a control message on a peer-to-peer network.

  • Patent number: 6347372
Abstract: A multiprocessor control system includes a plurality of processors, a boot control device controlling boot of the plurality of processors, a storage device storing boot data therein, and a shared bus interconnecting the plurality of processors, the boot control device and the storage device. The processors constitute at least one boot processor to which the boot data is to be loaded. The boot control device includes a time slot division unit which produces time slots on the shared bus by multiplexing channels for the processors, and a time sharing control unit which determines a time slot for the boot processor among the time slots produced, and assigns the time slot to the boot processor. The time sharing control unit includes a processor interface part which notifies a time-slot location of the time slot determined, to the boot processor.

  • Publication number: 20010034601
Abstract: On the basis of parameters representing background noise characteristics and parameters representing voice characteristics of a current frame, a voice activity detector 42 identifies whether the current frame is a non-active voice segment of background noise only or an active voice segment in which background noise has been superimposed on voice. The voice activity detector updates the background-noise characteristic parameters in each frame, irrespective of whether requirements for updating the background-noise characteristic parameters have been satisfied, in an interval of time from start of a steady operation for detection of voice activity to identification of an active voice segment. Further, the voice activity detector 42 relaxes the update requirements of the background-noise characteristic parameters based upon results of voice activity and voice non-activity detection and, when these requirements have been satisfied, updates the background-noise characteristic parameters.

  • Patent number: 6243462
Abstract: On the basis of tap coefficients which a tap coefficient updating circuit updates in succession, a maximum-tap position detecting unit, a fluctuation width detecting unit and a comparator detect a state where the transmission delay time of an echo path exceeds the echo control time of an echo canceller. In a case where the state has been detected, a changeover controlling unit stops an echo cancelling operation which includes a process for subtracting a pseudo echo signal from a send-in signal.

  • Patent number: 6226768
Abstract: A coded frame synchronization method for decoding coded information sent every frame includes the steps of: (a) receiving a coded frame having error detection or correction codes, each of which is provided every predetermined number of bits, error detection or correction codes being added to the coded frame in accordance with a predetermined pattern; (b) pulling the coded frame in synchronization by performing an error detection process every predetermined number of bits to be compared with results of the error detection process and thus detecting a phase of the error detection or correction codes; and (c) recognizing a leading end of the coded frame on the basis of the phase of the error detection or correction codes.

  • Patent number: 5305309
Abstract: An echo cancellor includes an echo replica generator which generates an echo replica signal based on a received signal, a subtractor which obtains a transmitting side output signal by subtracting the echo replica signal from a transmitting side input signal, a divergence detector which detects a divergence of the echo cancellor based on the transmitting side input signal and the echo replica signal and outputs a detection signal when the divergence is detected, and a resetting part which automatically resets the echo replica generator in response to the detection signal from the divergence detector.

  • Patent number: 5214693
Abstract: A multi-frequency signal receiver, and in particular a push-button signal receiver, is provided having a detector circuit and an amplitude variation supervisory circuit. The detector circuit has a group of band pass filters, each having a pass band corresponding to each elemental signal in the multi-frequency signal. The detector circuit also has a logic circuit for receiving each output from the band pass filters and outputting detected data of the multi-frequency signal. The amplitude variation supervisory circuit monitors the amplitude of an input signal for a predetermined duration and detects and holds the maximum value of the monitored amplitude. Then, the amplitude variation supervisory circuit detects when the amplitude of the input signal exceeds the maximum amplitude value to determine if the input signal is not the multi-frequency signal.
