Abstract: A cartridge attachment structure includes: a cover whose one end is attached to a pivot shaft for opening and closing a storage space; a support member attached to the pivot shaft and supporting a cartridge; and a pair of lifting-up members attached to the cover such that the cartridge can be sandwiched along the side surface of the cartridge. A groove is formed on each of the opposing inner surfaces of the lifting-up members to receive a projection 16 formed on the side surface of the cartridge. The groove is curved such that the bottom surface of the cartridge moves away from the support member when the protrusion slides along the groove as the cover rotates about the pivot shaft.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an adsorbent for oral administration capable of adsorbing large quantities of indole in the presence of bile acid. The above problem can be solved by an adsorbent for oral administration comprising a spherical activated carbon, the activated carbon having a specific surface area determined by the BET method of 800 m2/g or more, a bulk density of from 0.3 g/mL to 0.8 g/mL, a volume of pores having a diameter less than 3 nm of 0.3 mL/g or more, and a micropore/mesopore ratio (Vm) determined by Formula (1): Vm=Vmic/Vmet (1) wherein Vmic is a volume of pores having a diameter less than 3 nm, and Vmet is a volume of pores having a diameter from 3 nm to 50 nm; of 3.0 or more.

Abstract: A single cylinder engine includes an engine body having a cylinder and a combustion chamber, an intake opening that faces the combustion chamber, and an intake passage in communication with the combustion chamber through the intake opening, a piston provided in the cylinder, an ignition plug arranged in a position within about 5% of a bore diameter of the cylinder from an axis of the cylinder, a throttle valve provided in the intake passage, a sensor that detects an opening degree of the throttle valve, and an ECU that causes the ignition plug to lag in ignition timing during two or three cycles when the throttle valve is increased in opening degree from an idling state.
