  • Patent number: 7224250
Abstract: This invention provides a superconducting magnet apparatus capable of preventing or restraining the heat invading into the apparatus and reducing the refrigeration load of an external refrigerator, at the time of changeover of a switch in transiting to a persistent current mode, and capable of quick changeover operation. In the superconducting magnet apparatus of the present invention (1), in transiting to a persistent current mode, a thermal superconducting switch (41) placed in a low-temperature domain and a mechanical switch (42) placed in a mid-temperature domain are turned on. Since the mechanical switch (42) is placed in the mid-temperature domain, even if a heat load is generated through the drive mechanism (60), it is not necessary to cool the mechanical switch to an extremely low temperature.

  • Patent number: 7132914
Abstract: A superconducting magnet apparatus which renders possible efficient, accurate and secure connection of a superconducting magnet current lead is provided. In the superconducting magnet apparatus of the present invention, a first current lead (21) and a second current lead (22) which compose a detachable current lead for excitation power supply are automatically attached to/detached from each other via a drive mechanism (30) using a piezoelectric ceramic. Therefore, professional skills in operation and maintenance required for this attachment/detachment operation are not necessary and the apparatus is easy to take care of. Also, no manpower is required even if a plurality of superconducting magnets are excited/demagnetized one after another, and efficient operation of the apparatus is possible. Furthermore, the piezoelectric ceramic is less subject to a magnetic field.

  • Patent number: 6719933
Abstract: A method of making a spherical seamless capsule formed by encapsulating a filler material such as a medicine with a capsule shell material shell such as gelatin. A liquid capsule shell material is stored in a tank at a low temperature, and supplied to a concentric multiple nozzle while it temperature is raised to a predetermined temperature upon being gradually heated while being transferred to the concentric multiple nozzle. This prevents deterioration in the capsule shell material and excessive decrease in its viscosity. When the liquid filler material and the capsule shell material flow out of the concentric multiple nozzle, their flows are cut by imparting a vibration thereto, to form a droplet in which the filler material and the capsule shell material are disposed at the center and on the outside, respectively. Such droplets are dropped into a curing liquid while in a dispersed state to cure the surface of the capsule shell material.

  • Patent number: 6657526
Abstract: There is provided a power lead for a superconductive magnet capable of controlling the invasion of heat to liquid helium for storing superconductive coils therein and of sufficiently feeding power to the superconductive coils. The power lead for a superconductive magnet of a superconductor magneto unit for supplying a current to the superconductive coils which are cooled at a liquid helium temperature through a radiant heat shielded section which is cooled at a liquid nitrogen temperature, wherein at least a part of sections positioned inside the radiant heat shielded section of a current lead member of the superconductive magnet comprises a high temperature oxide superconductor bulk body having a critical temperature exceeding a liquid nitrogen temperature. In this case, it is preferable to apply a resin impregnation treatment to the bulk body to enforce the high temperature oxide superconductor bulk body section.

  • Publication number: 20030090015

A liquid capsule shell material is stored in a tank at a low temperature, and is supplied to a concentric multiple nozzle while in a state where its temperature is raised to a predetermined temperature upon being gradually heated in the process of being transferred to the concentric multiple nozzle. This prevents the deterioration in the capsule shell material and the excessive decrease in its viscosity from occurring. When the liquid filler material and capsule shell material are caused to flow out of the concentric multiple nozzle, their flows are cut by imparting a vibration thereto, so as to form a droplet in which the filler material and the capsule shell material are disposed at the center and on the outside, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5204650
Abstract: A superconductive switch is provided with a pair of superconductive routes which are wound around a cylindrical core in a bifilar fashion. One superconductive wire is constituted of a pair of superconductive routes. The superconductive routes are twisted around each other at a uniform pitch. By virtue of the twisting, electromagnetic force which may exerted in the superconductive wires cancel each other, so that the wire-movement of the superconductive wire is restrained. Accordingly, the electrical current flowing through the superconductive switch can be increased.
