    Abstract: A sealed case has first and second housing portions. A motor section is arranged in the first housing portion of the sealed case and has a rotating shaft extending in the second housing portion. A compression mechanism section is arranged in the second housing portion of the sealed case and has first and second cylinders stacked on each other and first and second crank portions which are formed on the rotating shaft in the first and second cylinders, respectively. An accumulator is arranged outside the sealed case so as to substantially oppose an arrangement position of the motor section. A first suction pipe connects the accumulator to the first cylinder of the compression mechanism section. A second suction pipe is arranged outwardly from the first suction pipe so as to connect the accumulator to the second cylinder of the compression mechanism section.

    Abstract: A lateral rotary compressor includes a container for storing lubricating oil, compressing device disposed in the container for compressing a gaseous fluid, and a driving device disposed in the container for driving the compressing device. The compressing device includes a blade chamber defined in the compressing device above the surface level of the lubricating oil in the container, reciprocally movable blade disposed in the blade chamber for increasing and decreasing the volume in the blade chamber, and an oil passage device for drawing the lubricating oil in the container into the blade chamber and for feeding the lubricating oil in the blade chamber to the compressor device in response to the reciprocal movement of the blade.

    Abstract: A compressor comprises a casing having an aperture, a compressor unit provided in the casing, and an electric motor for driving the compressor unit, the electric motor being provided in the casing together with the compressor unit. An iron joint is mounted to the aperture of the casing and is formed with an electrically conductive metal coating having a corrosion resistance greater than that of iron on the surface thereof. The iron joint is comprised of a cylindrical portion and a conical outer surface portion welded to the edge of the aperture by resistance welding. A pipe for sucking or discharging gas to or from the casing is brazed into the cylindrical portion of the iron joint with a copper brazing material.

    Abstract: A lateral type accumulator includes a hermetic container which is divided into an intake cell, a discharge cell and a storage chamber between the cells in a horizontal direction by an intake side plate and a discharge side plate, and intake pipe connected to the intake cell, a discharge pipe connected to the discharge cell, and a gas fluid passage from the intake cell to the discharge cell through the intake side and the discharge side plates. The mixture of a lubricating oil and a refrigerant including a gas element and a liquid element is drawn into the storage chamber through the intake pipe and the intake cell, and the mixture is separated into the gas element and a remaining mixture in the storage chamber, hereupon the gas element is discharged from the discharge pipe through the discharge cell along the gas fluid passage. The surface level of the lubricating oil and refrigerant is maintained greater than that in the intake and the discharge cells during the operation of an refrigerating circuit.
