Abstract: An aqueous composition which comprises an aqueous medium (component C) and an oil-soluble substance (component B) solubilized or dispersed therein by the action of a solubilizing or dispersing agent (component A), said component A comprising a polyglycerol saturated fatty acid ester which has a cloud point of 20.degree. C. or higher and in which at least 70% by weight of the fatty-acid moieties thereof are derived from a saturated fatty acid having 12 to 14 carbon atoms; and the amount of said component A being from 1 to 10 parts by weight per part by weight of said component B.

Abstract: An oil-in-water emulsion composition having a high oil content, which comprises (a) a sucrose fatty acid ester, (b) water, and (c) an oily component, wherein (i) component (c) is present in an amount of 90% by weight or more based on the total weight of components (a), (b) and (c), (ii) at least 20% by weight of the fatty acid moiety constituting component (a) are derived from a saturated fatty acid having 8 to 16 carbon atoms, an unsaturated fatty acid having 16 to 22 carbon atoms, or a mixture thereof, and the proportion of a monoester in component (a) is 60% by weight or more; and a method for producing the oil-in-water emulsion composition having a high oil content, which comprises adding, to a mixture comprising the components (a), (b) and (c), a solid which is insoluble in the mixture in an amount of 0.01 to 10% by volume based on the total volume of the components (a), (b), and (c), followed by stirring and removal of the solid.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process of measuring a cloud point of polyglycerol-fatty acid ester comprising;adding polyglycerol-fatty acid ester to an aqueous solution of a salt, a polyhydric alcohol, or a mixture thereof to prepare a homogeneous aqueous polyglycerol-fatty acid ester solution;heating the obtained homogeneous aqueous solution to allow to change the homogeneous aqueous solution into a heterogeneous aqueous solution; andmeasuring a temperature at which the homogeneous aqueous solution changes into the heterogeneous aqueous solution.
