  • Patent number: 5051927
Abstract: An image editing apparatus including an image display for displaying an image on a cathode-ray tube wherein a source area of the original is designated as is a destination area so that a partial image of the source area can be transferred to the destination area while information regarding the designation area and destination area are displayed on the CRT. Thus, the magnification and relative position of the image after editing can be readily appreciated by referring to the display on the CRT.

  • Patent number: 4939590
Abstract: When an original formed by using a dot screen is read, a key which corresponds to the screen line number of the dot screen is inputted. By the key input, a suitable magnification rate data based on the screen line number is set for eliminating moire patterns. An optical enlarging magnification rate and reducing magnification rate are determined based on the set magnification rate data. The image of the original is projected on an image sensor at this optical enlarging magnification rate and is converted into electrical data. The electrical data are reduced electrically at the reducing magnification rate to be outputted as the image data.

  • Patent number: 4893177
Abstract: According to the present invention, there are provided an apparatus and a method in which a full-color, original manuscript is optically scanned, the optical image is separated into three pirmary colors and the resultant image data is read, and then the image data thus read is outputted to a thermal printer, thereby generating a print for each color undergone the color separation. Namely, the manuscripts for effecting a printing operation with yellow, magenta, cyan, and black are created by use of an ink sheet. In other words, a correction is achieved to set the total of the areal ratios of yellow, magenta, cyan, and black in each pixel of the reproduced image to at most 100% (or the total of the numbers of dots for yellow, magenta, cyan, and black is set to be equal to at most the number of matrix elements), thereby achieving the object described above.

  • Patent number: 4893195
Abstract: When an original comprised of a plurality of areas different half tone images is read, any one of the areas is designated at first. A magnification rate of projection for eliminating moire pattern is set and the image of the original is projected on the image sensor at this magnification rate to be converted into electrical data. The electrical data is electrically reduced at a reducing magnification rate which is in correspondence with the magnification rate of projection. Among the reduced electrical data, only those for the designated area are half tone processed and outputted, and the image of that area is printed on a paper. Thereafter, designation of other areas is carried out and the electrical data is outputted by similar processing. The images of these areas are printed on the same paper, whereby all images of the original are formed on the paper without moire pattern.

  • Patent number: 4866534
Abstract: An image processing apparatus for transforming electic data of a half-tone image into a bi-level image by using a dither matrix, having a plurality of dither matrices of different patterns to each other, the dither matrices being chosen to remove textures due to dither processing, wherein the average of electric image data of a block of the size of the dither matrices is calculated, and a dither matrix is selected according to the average.

  • Patent number: 4858023
Abstract: An image read apparatus provided with a reader which scans an original and a reference white pattern and reads the image by an image sensor, a line RAM which temporarily stores therein the read difference white pattern, a conversion memory which has a conversion table for performing shading correction and gamma correction and which outputs a correction signal from an image signal of the reference white pattern and an original image signal, and a binary digitizing circuit which binary-digitizes the correction signal by a predetermined method and outputs it to an output circuit, so as to simultaneously perform the shading and gamma correction of the original image signal and reads a halftone faithfully to the original to output the read image signal to an output device.

  • Patent number: 4854978
Abstract: A metal molded shape having a high hardness surface layer which is hard to work is obtained by casting an easy to work alloy member into a desired molded form, and then changing the composition of the member surface by volatilizing off the high vapor pressure elements, carried out by subjecting the easy to work alloy member, to a heat treatment at high temperature.

  • Patent number: 4812915
Abstract: Disclosed is an image reading apparatus wherein an image of a document is projected on an image sensor at an enlarged magnification of N times the normal magnification. This causes an electrical reduction circuit to reduce its input data by 1/N times the input. The data for determining the magnification N is stored in a memory from which the data corresponding to one of a plurality of levels selected by the operator is read out. The moire pattern due to a difference in phase between the dot pitch and the reading pitch is elminated by the optical enlargement. On the other hand, the moire pattern due to the periodic characteristics of dither processing is removed by the optical enlargement which eliminates a low-frequency component of the read data and by the electrical reduction which slightly alters the phase of read data.
