Patent number: 5648986Abstract: A digital radio communication device which prevent deterioration of an error rate of a demodulated signal caused by equalization processing of an output of a digital demodulation circuit, and that can always provide optimal reception regardless of presence or absence of delayed waves. A bit error estimation circuit 6 estimates a bit error of demodulated serial data S3 output by the digital demodulation circuit 6 and outputs results of estimation to a control circuit 7 as an estimated bit error signal S5. The control circuit 7 switches a selector 9 through a selector control signal S6 generated on the basis of the estimated bit error signal S5 and the received field strength indicator signal S2 from a reception circuit 2 so as to select the demodulated serial data S3 or S4 output by either the digital demodulation circuit 6 or the equalizer 5 for output as demodulated data S7.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 1995Date of Patent: July 15, 1997Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventors: Kaoru Tatsumi, Kazuo Yamamoto

Patent number: 5450442Abstract: A digital radio telephone apparatus adaptively employs an equalizer for compensating for signal distortion of received signals. A switch may be provided at an output terminal of the equalizer so that the equalized signals are selectively applied to the decoder. The equalizer may be rendered to be operative when the quality of received radio frequency signals is lower than a prescribed level and rendered to be inoperative when the quality of received radio frequency signals is not lower than the prescribed level. The equalizer may be rendered to be inoperative for a predetermined time period from the time a digital speech radio link establishment operation is initiated. In the event that a radio link is established by TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access), the equalizer may be rendered to be operative in synchronization with a time slot assigned to the apparatus. The equalizer is not suppled with electric power or clock while the equalizer is rendered to be inoperative.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 1991Date of Patent: September 12, 1995Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventors: Yuji Umemoto, Shinichi Suizu, Kaoru Tatsumi, Mutsumu Serizawa

Patent number: 4600809Abstract: In a telephone system having an automatic response function wherein a predetermined answer message is automatically sent to a calling originator when a speaking path to the calling originator is established in response to a call signal originated by calling from the calling originator, there are provided a DTMF signal decoder for decoding a DTMF signal sent from the calling originator as a result of key operation at the calling originator after the speaking path has been established, and a memory for storing operated key data corresponding to the output of the DTMF signal decoder, whereby information regarding the calling originator is obtained when the stored content of the memory is zero.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 1984Date of Patent: July 15, 1986Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventors: Kaoru Tatsumi, Takao Kishida, Kuniyoshi Marui, Takaaki Ishii
