    Abstract: The present invention improves mechanical strength of a micro-electro-mechanical device (MEMS) having a movable portion to improve reliability. In a micro-electro-mechanical device (MEMS) having a movable portion, a portion which has been a hollow portion in the case of a conventional structure is filled with a filler material. As the filler material, a block copolymer that is highly flexible is used, for example. By filling the hollow portion, mechanical strength improves. Besides, warpage of an upper portion of a structure body in the manufacture process is prevented, whereby yield improves. A micro-electro-mechanical device thus manufactured is highly reliable.

    Abstract: A semiconductor device which has higher integration and is further reduced in thickness and size. A semiconductor device with high performance and low power consumption. A semiconductor element layer separated from a substrate by using a separation layer is stacked over a semiconductor element layer formed by using another substrate and covered with a flattened inorganic insulating layer. After separation of the semiconductor element layer in a top layer from the substrate, the separation layer is removed so that an inorganic insulating film formed under the semiconductor element layer is exposed. The flattened inorganic insulating layer and the inorganic insulating film are made to be in close contact and bonded to each other. In addition, a semiconductor layer included in the semiconductor element layer is a single crystal semiconductor layer which is separated from a semiconductor substrate and transferred to a formation substrate.

The light emitting device has a light emitting element comprising a light emitting layer formed between a first electrode and a second electrode and a pixel portion comprising the light emitting element. The entire surface of the pixel portion is covered with the second electrode. An impermeable insulating film is formed in contact with the first electrode of the light emitting element. The edge of the first electrode and the impermeable insulating film are covered with a partition wall. An opening is formed along the circumference of the pixel portion in the partition wall. The opening passes through the partition wall in the thickness direction, and the side wall and the bottom face thereof are covered with the second electrode.

    Abstract: When materials of a cathode and an anode are transparent and a substrate with transparency is used for a substrate and a sealing substrate, luminescence from a layer including an organic compound can simultaneously perform two ways of display: luminescence passing a cathode and luminescence transmitted in an anode. However, interference effect by an optical distance difference results in difference in optical characteristics (such as a color tone) between luminescence from a top surface and luminescence from a bottom surface. According to the present invention, a light-emitting device having luminescence from a top surface and luminescence from a bottom surface provides both luminescence to a top surface and luminescence to a bottom surface with an image display having an uniform color tone and of high quality by regulating a film thickness of a transparent conductive film disposed on a cathode side and a film thickness of a cathode.

    Abstract: In order to provide a display device of high reliability in which an amount of moisture and oxygen, which are a factor for deteriorating a characteristics of a display device, entering from a sealing agent is reduced and its manufacturing method, the present invention has a sealing film. Accordingly, an interlayer insulating film including an organic material of the display device (panel) is no longer exposed to the atmosphere outside of the display device. Therefore, it becomes possible to prevent moisture and oxygen outside of the display device from entering inside of the display device through an insulating film and the like including a hygroscopic organic material. In addition, various degradations such as contamination of an inner part of the display device caused by moisture, oxygen and the like, the degradation of electric properties, a dark spot and shrink can be prevented, thus enhancing reliability of the display device.
