  • Publication number: 20040068669
Abstract: A fingerprint authentication device comprises input finger characteristic judging portion 13. The input finger characteristic judging portion 13 judges whether the input data is proper or not on the basis of spatial distribution of brightness in an fingerprint image represented by the input data. An observation line deciding portion decides an observation line on the fingerprint image. A peak envelope calculating portion graphs the brightness against positions on the observation line and draws envelopes of line graphs each of which links local maximums or local minimums of the brightness. A discriminative value calculating portion calculates discriminative values by the use of a brightness distribution function and peak envelop functions. A deciding portion decides whether the input image is proper or not by the use of the discriminative values together with the discriminative coefficient preliminary calculated.

  • Publication number: 20040062425
Abstract: A fingerprint authentication device comprises input finger characteristic judging portion 13. The input finger characteristic judging portion 13 judges whether the input data is proper or not on the basis of spatial frequency analysis of an fingerprint image represented by the input data. An observation area deciding portion decides an observation area on the fingerprint image. A frequency analyzing portion 132 transforms image of the observation area into a Fourier transformed image. The frequency analyzing portion 132 further calculates averages and dispersion of strength values corresponding to predetermined spatial frequency bands. A discriminative value calculating portion calculates discriminative values by the use of the averages and the dispersion. A deciding portion decides whether the input image is proper or not by the use of the discriminative values together with discriminative coefficient preliminary calculated.

  • Patent number: 6324297
Abstract: An original image is held in the image holder 11, and displayed on the image display 12 to be viewed by the operator. The operator inputs the angle of rotation and ratio of compression of an focal point of the original image for observing ridges more clearly. A perspective transforming unit 14 generates a result image according to corresponding perspective transformation (i.e., affine transformations), and a perspective transformed image display 15 displays the result image to the user. The operator does operations of manual plotting and manual tracing with reference to the result image. The result of the operations is inputted to and recorded in the manual input unit 16, and transformed in a feature data transforming unit 17 to feature data.

  • Publication number: 20010044900
Abstract: In an identification system for electronic commerce, an end terminal transmits a transaction request message containing biometrics data of a user to a communications network, At least one electronic commerce service provider unit is provided which receives the transaction request message via the network and transmits an authentication request message containing the biometrics data to the network. An authentication server having a database for storing registered biometrics data receives the authentication request message and determines whether the received biometrics data has corresponding biometrics data in the database and returns a reply to the ECSP unit via the network indicating that the transaction request message is authenticated if the received biometrics data coincides with one of the registered biometrics data of the database.

  • Publication number: 20010035814
Abstract: A user terminal including a fingerprint sensor is connected via a network to a content distribution server. The server includes at least a fingerprint-feature comparing unit and a specified content distributor. The fingerprint-feature comparing unit accesses a registered user information table in which personal information regarding a user, a user identification, and fingerprint feature information, and reads therefrom fingerprint feature information of a person who requests a content distribution so as to compare the fingerprint feature information with fingerprint feature information of the person inputted from the user terminal. The specific content distributor distributes a requested content to the user terminal only when match is made as a result of comparison. The content can therefore be distributed via a network with higher reliability and safety.

  • Publication number: 20010032096
Abstract: A technology, in which when an article, ordered by a person through a network being not meeting each other, is delivered to the person, the article can be surely delivered to the person who made the order by not allowing that another person pretends to be the person who made the order, and it can be verified that the article was delivered to the person who made the order, is provided. When a person orders an article, the person inputs his/her own fingerprint to an ordering terminal in addition to inputting order information including the article number of the article, its destination (the delivering address of the article), the payment method, the price, and so on. And a fingerprint feature of the inputted fingerprint and the order information are transmitted to an electronic commerce (EC) server through a network.
