  • Patent number: 7403223
Abstract: Apparatus having a file generator which assigns a file name for information to be recorded so that the information is formatted as a file for storage in a recording medium. The file generator automatically assigns the file name which has a part thereof which is a serial number stored and managed in the recording medium and associated with the file. The file generator, in one embodiment, increments the last stored file number and stores it in readiness for use to identify the next file to be created. The file generator also creates characters forming an arbitrary position of the file name. The file generator also provides a character which identifies the apparatus with the file number. The arbitrary characters, the character which identifies the apparatus and the serial number are combined to form the file name.

  • Patent number: 6636844
Abstract: An image manipulating system having a memory device in which a file name is assigned a train of characters comprised of fixed characters and a second train of characters comprised of a file number, which is generated by incrementing a file number of a name previously assigned and stored in the memory device. The first train of characters includes a file name and a system name. A third train of characters may be provided to represent a subordinate name for the file name.

  • Publication number: 20020052988
Abstract: An image manipulating system according to the present invention can perform interval recording for repeatedly recording supplied image information at predetermined time intervals. Herein, a limit value of recording time intervals designative depending on an applicable type of information recording medium; such as, a memory card, floppy disk, hard disk, or the like is stored for each type of information recording medium in an EEPROM. A CPU does not enable selection of a recording time interval exceeding the limit value, and eventually sets a time interval. Thus, the present invention provides a user-friendly image manipulating system capable of achieving interval recording in as strictest compliance as possible with a demand.
