  • Patent number: 12030604
Abstract: A propeller (20) for a marine vessel (10), the propeller (20) comprising a plurality of propeller blades (24, 26). The propeller blades comprise a leading edge (30), a trailing edge (32) and an outer edge (34) located between the leading edge and the trailing edge. A transition from the leading edge to the outer edge occurs at a first transition point (36) and a transition from the outer edge to the trailing edge occurs at a second transition point (38). A straight line from the first transition point to the second transition point coincides with the outer edge (34) or is located at least partially outside the propeller blade. A smallest distance (D2) from the second transition point to the axis of rotation (A) is smaller than a smallest distance (D\) from the first transition point to the axis of rotation.

  • Patent number: 8444391
Abstract: A propeller drive for boats features a transition cone between the gearbox housing and the propeller hub(s). The propeller hub (that is closest to the gearbox housing) is smaller in cross-sectional dimension than the gearbox housing. The dimension of the front end of the transition cone corresponds to the cross-sectional dimension of the gearbox housing, and the dimension of the rear end of the transition cone corresponds to the cross-section dimension of the (closest) propeller hub. The transition cone has a bulging shoulder between the front and rear ends, the largest peripheral cross-sectional dimension of which is greater than the cross-sectional dimension of the front of the transition cone.

  • Patent number: 7407366
Abstract: Propeller combination for an aft-mounted boat propeller drive unit with counter-rotating pushing propellers (8,9). The forward propeller (9) is made with blades (12) which have blade tips with an outer edge (b) which approaches a straight line. The width of the blade tip is between 40% and 45% of the maximum width of the blade.

  • Publication number: 20060198733
Abstract: A marine propeller drive (1) for boats, including a gearbox (10) for a motor transmission and an associated impelling propeller (12). The propeller (12) is provided with a propeller hub (14), the main peripheral cross-section dimension (A) of which is less than the main peripheral cross-section dimension (B) of the gearbox (10) and where a transition cone (18) is located between the gearbox (10) and the propeller hub (14). The transition cone (18) has a front end (20) located in connection with the gearbox (10), where the front end (20) has an initial peripheral cross-section dimension (C) essentially corresponding to the main peripheral cross-section dimension (B) of the gearbox (10). A rear end (22) of the cone is located in connection with the propeller hub (14), where the rear end (22) has a connecting peripheral cross-section dimension (D) essentially corresponding to the main peripheral cross-section dimension (A) of the propeller hub (14).

  • Patent number: 6783410
Abstract: Boat propeller drive unit with an underwater housing (5), which is solidly joined to a boat hull and has pulling propellers (15, 16) on the forward facing side of the housing. At the aft edge of the underwater housing, a rudder is mounted, comprising a first rudder blade (22a) mounted in the underwater housing and a second rudder blade (22c) mounted on the aft edge of the first rudder blade.

  • Patent number: 6599159
Abstract: A boat propeller drive with an underwater housing which is connected in a fixed manner to a boat hull and has tractor propellers which are arranged on that side of the housing facing ahead and the blade areas of which are adapted to one another in such a manner that, at least under certain operating conditions, the aft propeller works in a cavity-generating manner whereas the fore propeller works in a cavitation-free manner.
