  • Patent number: 4346616
Abstract: The electromagnetic disk-free clutch includes a cylindrical rotor supported on one rotary part and defining at one end face a frictional disk and at the other end face an annular groove which accommodates a tubular stator with an electromagnetic coil. The frictional ring of the rotor faces a corresponding frictional ring of a spring-biased armature which is supported for joint rotation and for an axial displacement on the other rotary part. The stator part adjoining the open end of the annular gap is radially extended to form a covering flange having a cross section substantially equal to the cross section of the axially directed parts of the stator and the rotor. The face of the rotor forming the frictional ring is provided with uniformly distributed openings and the axial dimension of the annular groove in the rotor exceeds that of the stator.

  • Patent number: 4115001
Abstract: An apparatus for marking a longitudinal edge of a travelling web has a marking (e.g. notching) station, upstream but adjacent to which is located an abutment. Upstream of the abutment is located aguide arrangement which urges the web transversely of the direction of web travel at an angle skew to the longitudinal centerline of the web, so as to exert on the web a force acting skew to the centerline in the forward direction of web travel and towards the edge to be marked. This urges the edge in part against the abutment to assure that the web travels in predetermined orientation through the marking station.

  • Patent number: 4088405
Abstract: Apparatus for pivoting a shutter or a filter between two end positions in a photographic copying machine has two magnetic systems one of which moves the shutter or filter during the last stage of movement from one to the other end position and thereupon holds the shutter or filter in the selected end position. The other magnetic system initiates the movement of shutter or filter from the one to the other end position and accelerates it during movement to a neutral position midway between the two end positions. The other system is deactivated while the shutter or filter moves between the neutral and other end positions. Each system can include an electromagnet. Alternatively, the other system employs two electromagnets and the one system then uses a permanent magnet which shares the movements of the shutter or filter.

  • Patent number: 4073118
Abstract: An elongated web of exposed and developed photographic film is moved lengthwise and is severed at regular intervals to yield a succession of discrete sections. Related sections (e.g., those belonging to a customer) are assembled into groups of overlapping sections, and such groups are thereupon introduced into discrete envelopes. The assembling of groups takes place in a fan-shaped magazine having a plurality of separate compartments and being movable relative to belts or analogous transporting means for successive sections of the severed film so that each section enters a different compartment. When the magazine accumulates a group of related sections, the sections are expelled from the magazine by a pusher which moves them forwardly (i.e., in the same direction in which the sections were transported to enter the magazine) or sideways and into the respective envelope. The width of each compartment decreases in the direction of forward movement of sections or at right angles to such direction.

  • Patent number: 4006978
Abstract: A pair of contacts of a relay energizes the driving circuit for the film drive motor when closed. The coil operating the contacts is connected in series with the emitter of a transistor whose base is connected to the battery upon closing of the camera activating button. Zener diode connected between the base of the transistor and the relay contacts. Closing of the contacts thus energizes the motor driving circuit and also connects the Zener diode into the base-emitter circuit of the transistor, thereby decreasing the base voltage and increasing the emitter-collector resistance so that current through the coil is decreased to the holding current.
