  • Publication number: 20240298707
Abstract: An aerosol delivery device includes an electrical power source, an induction receiver configured to receive a substrate including an aerosol precursor composition such that the induction receiver is in proximity to the substrate, and a wireless power transmitter including an induction transmitter. The induction transmitter is configured to removably receive the induction receiver such that the induction transmitter surrounds the induction receiver. The induction transmitter receive electrical current from the electrical power source that causes the induction transmitter to generate an oscillating magnetic field, and the induction receiver generates heat via eddy currents induced at the induction receiver when exposed to the oscillating magnetic field and thereby heats the aerosol precursor composition to produce an aerosol. Related methods are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20240100290
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling an exhalation valve to increase flow resistance during exhalation. An example method includes delivering breathing gases for a first breath; controlling the expiratory valve according to a first closure profile during a first exhalation phase of the first breath; detecting, by the flow sensor, an exhaled gas flow rate during the first exhalation phase; determining that the exhaled gas flow rate during the first exhalation phase is indicative of a collapsed airway during the first exhalation phase; based on determining that the exhaled gas flow rate is indicative of the collapsed airway, setting a second closure profile of the expiratory valve for a second exhalation phase wherein the second closure profile of the expiratory valve increases airflow resistance for the second exhalation phase of a second breath; and controlling the expiratory valve according to the second closure profile during the second exhalation phase.

  • Publication number: 20230201515
Abstract: Systems and methods for fluid delivery into a ventilation system are disclosed. In an example, the technology relates to a fluid delivery system for delivery of aerosolized liquid. The fluid delivery system includes an injection tip having a set of orifices configured to aerosolize a liquid having certain properties. The injection tip may be couplable with components of a breathing circuit. For example, the injection tip may be couplable with components at or below a wye component (e.g., at a wye component or between the wye component and a patient), such as at the wye component or at an endotracheal tube multi-port connector. Alternatively, the injection tip may be integrated into a breathing circuit, such as at an endotracheal tube connector or at an endotracheal tube.
