  • Patent number: 11394933
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a storage device, for monitoring a vehicle access point. In one aspect, a monitoring system is disclosed that includes a processor and a computer storage media storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations. The operations may include obtaining, by the monitoring system, monitoring system data that is generated by a first monitoring system component, determining, by the monitoring system and based on the monitoring system data, a current occupancy of a vehicle, determining, by the monitoring system and based on the current occupancy of the vehicle, whether a vehicle access point is to be monitored, and in response to determining, by the monitoring system and based on the current occupancy of the vehicle, that the vehicle is not occupied by a human occupant, using one or more second monitoring system components to monitor the vehicle access point.
