  • Publication number: 20230203546
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the production of a carboxylic acid from a primary alcohol, said method comprising: a first step of growing a strain of bacterium of the genus Acetobacter capable of selectively oxidizing said alcohol into said carboxylic acid, in an appropriate growth medium comprising glycerol as carbon source, until said bacterium reaches a late exponential growth phase; then a selective oxidation step comprising aerobically culturing said bacterium in a bioconversion reactor containing an appropriate liquid bioconversion medium containing said alcohol and glycerol, for a sufficient time to oxidize said alcohol into said carboxylic acid.

  • Patent number: 11623705
Abstract: A system and method for determining alignment of a first part relative to a second part includes an alignment gauge body including a first portion for resting against the first part and a second portion for positioning juxtaposed to the second part and a measuring device fixedly coupled to the alignment gauge body. The measuring device generates a distance signal corresponding to a distance between a first face of the first part and the second face of the second part. A controller coupled to the gauge device and a memory. The controller is programmed to store a vehicle identification number (VIN) in the memory and compare the distance. The controller associates the VIN and the distance in the memory. The controller compares the distance to a threshold and setting a flag in response to comparing. A display coupled to the controller displays an indicator corresponding to the flag.

  • Publication number: 20050039904
Abstract: A method of controlling a hydronic system is provided. The hydronic system includes a plurality of fluid heat exchange units for feeding a load, and a bypass valve for bypassing the load. The method includes operating at least a first and a second fluid heat exchange unit in the hydronic system to heat or cool a fluid. An output fluid flow of each of the operating fluid heat exchange units is monitored. The monitored output fluid flow of each fluid heat exchange unit is compared to a predetermined fluid flow setpoint. The output fluid flow of each of the operating fluid heat exchange units is adjusted towards the predetermined fluid flow setpoint if the monitored output flow is different from the predetermined fluid flow setpoint by at least a predetermined margin. A combined output fluid flow of the operating fluid heat exchange units is also monitored. The bypass valve is at least partially opened if the combined output fluid flow is below a predetermined minimum combined output fluid flow.
