  • Publication number: 20240146839
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, facilitating communication sessions such as voice calls over a plurality of radios of the wireless PBX via one or more carriers, where the wireless PBX includes a plurality of Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs) and a plurality of radios, wherein there are a maximum number of concurrent communication sessions permitted that are fewer than a number of the plurality of SIMs; determining that the maximum number of concurrent communication sessions has been reached; and responsive to reaching the maximum number of concurrent communication sessions, facilitating establishing an outgoing voice call via a WiFi connection. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11950098
Abstract: A UE can enable a VoWIFI service, receive hidden SSID information, and register with a core network via a RAN. The UE can monitor a first signal strength of a first signal from the RAN. The UE can scan for a second signal from a WLAN, and when found, can measure a second signal strength of the second signal. The UE can determine whether the first signal strength is at or below a first threshold. If so, and if the WLAN is untrusted, the UE can probe it with the hidden SSID information. If the untrusted WLAN responds, the UE can send an access request to an untrusted WLAN access point. The UE can receive, via the untrusted WLAN access point, an authentication challenge from an ePDG. If the UE passes the authentication challenge, the UE can register with the core network via the untrusted WLAN and the ePDG.

  • Patent number: 11889020
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, detecting, over a network, a call originating from a call originator and intended for a user of a user equipment, responsive to the detecting the call, determining whether to challenge the call originator, based on a determination to challenge the call originator, transmitting a request to the call originator, wherein the request prompts the call originator to specify an identity of the call originator and a purpose for the call, obtaining information from a call originator input responsive to the transmitting the request, deriving enhanced Caller Name or Caller ID data that includes the information, and causing the enhanced Caller Name or Caller ID data to be provided to the user equipment, thereby enabling the user of the user equipment to determine whether to answer the call. Other embodiments are disclosed.
