  • Publication number: 20090094048
Abstract: A system and method for facilitating an online collaborative community for individuals to meet each other, make suggestions to members in their network of other individuals as potential matches, and introduce members to each other. A number of features are provided that promote collaboration among members of the online community with regard to suggested matches of potentially compatible individuals. A first feature enables a user to initiate a multi-party discussion concerning suggested matches for particular individuals. The user has the ability to attach a profile of the suggested match to the discussion, which may be retrieved and viewed by the invited parties to the discussion. Invited parties may be non-members as well as members of the online community. A “social feed” is provided to a user to inform the user of activities happening on the site that are related to the user or any friends to whom he/she is connected.

  • Publication number: 20070106499
Abstract: A natural language system searching system develops concept and string indexes of a textual database, such as a group of litigation documents, by breaking the text to be indexed into sentences, words, dates, names and places in a reader, identifying phrases in a phrase parser, recovering word stems in a morphology module and determining the sense of potentially ambiguous words in a sense selector, all in accordance with words and concepts (word senses) stored in lexicon database 9-32. A query may then be processed by the reader, phrase parser, morphology module, and sense selector to provide a text meaning output which can be compared with the concept and string indexes to identify, retrieve and display documents and/or portions of documents related to the query. A lexicon enhancer adds vocabulary semi-automatically.

  • Publication number: 20060287878
Abstract: A system and method for facilitating an online collaborative community for individuals to meet each other with the assistance of third party intermediaries or matchmakers. The system provides the intermediaries with a variety of features to participate and collaborate in the process of identifying potentially compatible individuals and arranging for the introduction of those individuals. For example, the intermediaries can provide profile information about individual participants, search for potentially compatible individuals for others, or introduce individuals to each other. The introductions can be of individuals who are already participating or who are subsequently invited to participate. Introductions may also be anonymous.

  • Publication number: 20060015369
Abstract: An online database of patient-to-patient healthcare provider recommendations is provided. This database may provide a resource for choosing a physician, and a community of support for those facing medical challenges. Patients who have had a positive experience with a physician can register this physician online, and subsequent patients can search for a physician by a variety of categories, such as, e.g., location, specialty, or physician name. Registrants may have the ability to recommend more than one physician if they so choose. All registrations may be verified by the online service for current license status, correct contact information, and for positive recommendations. This database may be provided and maintained by a central server and accessed by users over the world wide web using a conventional browser application.
