Publication number: 20240386991Abstract: Predictive modeling of peptide binding motifs of major histocompatibility complex class I (MHC-I) is employed through the application of a predictive machine learning (ML) model. The predictive ML model can utilize structural and biophysical data obtained by modeling the physical structure of the binding pocket of the MHC-I and generating an electrostatic potential distribution of the binding pocket structural model. By utilizing the structural an biophysical data of the binding pocket of the MHC-I, the predictive ML model predicts the amino acid sequence of the peptide binding motif of the MHC-I.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2024Publication date: November 21, 2024Applicant: Arizona Board of Regents on Behalf of Arizona State UniversityInventors: Eric Wilson, Abhishek Singharoy, Karen Anderson, John Cava

Publication number: 20220160386Abstract: There is provided a method of biofilm reduction from the tongue which includes the steps of applying water to a selected area of biofilm and applying an Er, CR:YSGG solid state laser to the selected biofilm area from a hand held device. The method includes generating cavitation to the selected area of biofilm by the application of water and the application of the Er, CR:YSGG solid state laser to result in biofilm disruption without tissue injury. The biofilm disruption produces a reduction of the biofilm over a period of time, with a reduction in aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. A comparison of digital image analyses of tongue coatings over a period of time can determine the reduction in biofilm.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 9, 2022Publication date: May 26, 2022Inventors: Yosef Krespi, Victor Kizhner, Karen Wilson

Patent number: 11317970Abstract: There is provided a process for treatment of rhinitis by diode laser ablation of the posterior nasal nerves. The laser diode delivery device with elongated optic tip is inserted through a patient's nostril and has the length, flexibility and a curvature to reach both above and under the patient's middle turbinate for treatment to both posterior nasal nerves. Skin and tissue temperature is raised to approximately 60-65° C. with the process. Optimal treatment wavelength was found to be approximately 940 nanometers.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2020Date of Patent: May 3, 2022Inventors: Yosef Krespi, Ron Hadani, Victor Kizhner, Karen Wilson

Patent number: 10864312Abstract: A tubular medical fluid flow set comprises a pressure sensing chamber connected in flow-through relation to fluid flow tubing of the set. The pressure sensing chamber defines a movable, flexible, impermeable diaphragm dividing the chamber into two separate compartments. The fluid flow tubing communicates with one of the compartments and is isolated from the other of the compartments. A port is carried on the chamber, the port having a seal therein, and communicating with the other of the compartments. Thus, the other of the compartments is hermetically sealed until the port is opened for connection with a pressure measuring device, to keep the flexible diaphragm in a desired, initial position prior to opening of the seal.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2018Date of Patent: December 15, 2020Assignee: B. BRAUN MEDICAL INC.Inventors: William J. Schnell, David Bell, Karen Wilson, David S. Utterberg

Patent number: 7578015Abstract: A neck supporting pillow apparatus that provides support for both the head and neck by way of adjustable inflation of the resting surface of the pillow is disclosed. An inflatable pillow structure has a head support section and a raised neck support section. The head support section includes a generally concave mid-portion bordered by generally planar side surfaces. The raised neck support includes a top surface that is generally convexly shaped to provide proper neck support. The pillow body defines an internal chamber with an openable cover to allow for insertion of a heat pack or cold pack. Independently inflatable firmness bladders allow for customization of support by increasing or decreasing the pressure in bladders.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2008Date of Patent: August 25, 2009Inventors: Karen Wilson, Michael Anthony
