Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention include a fluid-absorbing member that can include a plurality of layers. In one embodiment, the plurality of layers can include a first layer, a second layer, and a third layer. Further, the first layer can be made from a bamboo-containing material and can be configured to be positioned immediately adjacent to a user's skin. Moreover, the third layer can be made from a fluid-impermeable material and can be configured to be positioned immediately adjacent to the user's clothing. In addition, in some embodiments, the plurality of layers can be coupled together at a position substantially adjacent to an edge of the plurality of layers.
