  • Patent number: 9996913
Abstract: A system for two color image fusion blending co-registered low light level images in the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum with thermal infrared images maximizes the information content of the scene by detecting in which of the two image types, IR and visible, there is more structural information and increasing the weight of the pixels in the image type having the most structural information. Additionally, situational awareness is increased by categorizing image information as “scene” or “target” and colorizing the target images to highlight target features when raw IR values are above a predetermined threshold. The system utilizes Red, Green and Blue (RGB) planes to convey different information such that for targets the Red plane is used to colorize regions when raw IR exceeds the predetermined threshold. For scene images, the Green plane provides improved situational awareness due to the above weighted blend of the two image types.

  • Patent number: 8269685
Abstract: Methods, antennas and other embodiments associated with impedance matching an antenna feed slot. A slot antenna includes a planar metal sheet. A feed slot opening is formed in the metal sheet. The feed slot has a first end and a second end. A tapered opening is formed in the metal sheet. Adjacent sides of the tapered opening touch the first end of the feed slot. An impedance matching star shaped opening is formed in the metal. The impedance matching star shaped opening touches the second end of the feed slot.

  • Patent number: 7428261
Abstract: Interference cancellation techniques for use in a wireless multicarrier communications system where signals from multiple wireless networks might be present and interfering with the detection and demodulation processes are disclosed. Interference cancellation is applied to the interfering network before removing same-system interference. By removing the contribution of all interfering systems' from a receiver's aggregate signal, the receiver is capable of detection and demodulation. Performance can be further improved by including an additional level of interference cancellation within the system of interest to separate the individual user of interest.

  • Patent number: 7190747
Abstract: Techniques for compensating for frequency mismatch between transmitters and receivers of a multiuser communication system having a plurality of users are disclosed. In particular, the mismatch of carrier frequency estimates are estimated and compensated for each user of the system. This is accomplished without increasing the training overhead of the system. Symbol phase drift and offset is computed by estimating phase error profile parameters (e.g., slope and offset). The disclosed techniques may be used to correct for symbol rotation in any one decision region, or in neighboring decision regions.
