  • Publication number: 20130194299
Abstract: A method for providing a navigation tool of a user interface for an industrial control system. The control system is arranged with a plurality of process graphics including one or more software objects. The software objects are arranged in hierarchical groups each representing a process, part-process or an equipment, in which materials are moved and/or processed in a predetermined order. The navigation tool includes a graphic image or map showing the plurality of process graphics symbolically arranged as a plurality of nodes. Each node is spatially arranged at a given distance from the centre of the map according to a hierarchical relationship between the process graphics, and the map is displayed superimposed on top of the process graphic currently displayed on the workstation.

  • Patent number: 6697759
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of determining speed of rotation of a motor. The method involves collecting samples with a measuring sensor at a sampling frequency, set on the basis of mechanical vibration of the motor, for the duration of a measurement period and storing the samples in the memory of a data carrier as measurement data of a fixed format. The speed of rotation of the motor is determined from the measurement data by determining the cycle length of a periodic vibration signal in the time domain by means of a maximum likelihood estimate calculated by maximizing a maximum likelihood function adjusted to the measurement data, the speed of rotation being obtained from the frequency point where the maximum likelihood function obtains its maximum value.

  • Patent number: 6671639
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of determining a speed of rotation of a squirrel-cage motor, wherein samples from the current taken by the squirrel-cage motor are collected by an electric current measuring device at a predetermined sampling frequency for a measurement period, the samples being stored as measurement data of a fixed format. The method is characterized by comprising the step of determining the rotation speed of the squirrel-cage motor from the measurement data by determining the base frequency and side frequencies of the electric current taken by the squirrel-cage motor, the rotation speed frequency of the squirrel-cage motor being obtained by subtracting the lower side frequency from the higher side frequency and by dividing the difference thus obtained by two.

  • Patent number: 6199656
Abstract: A rock drilling rig includes a movable carrier with a boom attached to it and movable in various ways. The free end of the boom is provided with drilling equipment. The drilling equipment is enclosed in a casing that prevents noise generated during drilling from spreading to the surroundings. The casing is arranged to move together with a feed beam and relative to the cradle mounted on the end of the boom. A flexible noise attenuating skirt projects forwardly from a front end of the casing for forming a sealed chamber around a drilling head.

  • Patent number: 5491340
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and apparatus for real-time measurement of refiner mechanical pulp quality index such as freeness. According to the method, refiner mechanical pulp transported in a steam-phase carrier is illuminated with electromagnetic radiation, and the change in the radiation spectrum caused by refiner mechanical pulp is detected. According to the method, the change in the radiation spectrum caused by refiner mechanical pulp is measured at a minimum number of four wavelength bands and the measured intensities are computationally processed to obtain the desired index of quality.

  • Patent number: 4610761
Abstract: A paper material has been invented that contains cellulose substituted by means of N-methylol compounds. As N-methylol compounds may be used, e.g., reaction products of urea, glyoxal, and formaldehyde, methylolated melamines, and N-methylol-acrylamide copolymers. The paper is manufactured best by impregnating paper with an aqueous solution or dispersion of a N-methylol compound and by drying it at 130.degree. to 200.degree. C. in order to produce condensation. Papers in accordance with the invention have good properties of strength against decomposition and wet strength, which properties can be adjusted readily by varying the degree of substitution or cross-linking of the cellulose. The papers are particularly well suitable, e.g., for the manufacture of plant-growing pots and corrugated fibreboard.

  • Patent number: 4530383
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for feeding a substrate into the cells of a set of growing cells placed underneath the device. The feeding device includes two horizontal feeding rolls parallel to each other. Each feeding roll includes a plurality of pin elements which project radially from the face of the rolls in an outward direction. The pins are placed in the normal planes of the axes of the feeding rolls in an alternating fashion with respect to the rolls. This arrangement allows the pins to interlock with each other in the vertical plane through which the substrate is fed. The substrate, by the effect of the circumferential velocity of the feeding rolls, is introduced into the cells so as to compact any material deposited earlier into the cells.
