  • Publication number: 20090266958
Abstract: A clamping system (10) for connecting a display device (26) to a support (25), includes a body (11) adapted to be connected to the display device (26), a clamp (12) for connecting the clamping system (10) to the support (25), a closing device (15, 16) for closing the clamp (12) when connecting the clamping system (10) to the support (25), the closing device (15) being integrated in the clamping system (10). The clamping system also may include a clamp opening device (14) for keeping the clamp (12) in an open position when not in use. A clamping system (10) may be a one-piece system and is easy to use and to handle. A method is described for connecting a display device (26) to a support (25), a display device system (30) including a display device (26) connected to a support (25) using at least one clamping system (10) according to embodiments of the invention and a method for making such a clamping system (10).

  • Patent number: 7559673
Abstract: A shading device is described for use with a display system. The shading device includes a first component, typically a rigid component, and a second component. The second component at least partially covers the first component. The second component is a solid continuous film which has a lower reflectivity than the first component. In a particular embodiment, the second component is more elastic or flexible than the first component and/or has a hardness smaller than the first component, and is furthermore adapted such that it can provide a sealing contact with a plurality of light sources. The latter allows using the shading device also as a sealing arrangement for sealing electronics and other components of the display system from the ambient of the display system.

  • Publication number: 20090073080
Abstract: A tiled display (100) for lighting or imaging includes a plurality of display tiles (110) arranged side by side. The tiled display (100) furthermore includes a seam hiding arrangement (114) formed of at least one light absorbing cloth or textile (114) in a seam (112) between two neighbouring display tiles (110). A corresponding method for assembling or adjusting a tiled display is described. The seam hiding arrangement may be used for blocking environmental light or stray light in the seams and optionally also for aligning or controlling the position of the display tiles.

  • Publication number: 20090059587
Abstract: The present invention relates to a light emitting device assembly. Such a LED assembly comprises a plurality of lamp-type light emitting devices, each of said lamp-type light emitting devices having a light output side and side walls. The plurality of lamp-type light emitting devices are directly or indirectly connected to each other via said side walls. The latter allows to obtain a compact LED assembly with high brightness.

  • Patent number: 7157838
Abstract: The present invention provides arrangements for electroluminescent displays 10 comprising a packaged semiconductor light emitting element 12 that has a light emitting display side 16. A heat sink 22 is disposed in the region of a rear side of the light-emitting element 12 opposite to the display side. Electrical connections 28 from the light emitting element 12 pass through said heat sink 22. Drive circuitry 30 for the light emitting element 12 is connected thereto by the electrical connections 28 and spaced apart from the heat sink 22 in such a manner that at least one cooling channel 34 is defined between the heat sink 22 and the drive circuitry 30 for the passage in use of a cooling fluid.
