  • Publication number: 20080223755
Abstract: The invention concerns a process for slurry phase hydroconversion of liquid sulphur-containing heavy hydrocarbon feeds, in the presence of hydrogen and in the presence of a solid catalyst, said catalyst being obtained from an aqueous solution formed from at least one cobalt and/or nickel salt of at least one heteropolyanion combining molybdenum and cobalt or molybdenum and nickel in its structure. The aqueous solution is introduced into a hydrocarbon oil containing asphaltenes and/or resins to form an emulsion and said emulsion is then injected upstream or directly into the slurry reactor.

  • Publication number: 20080173570
Abstract: A hydrotreating method uses two catalyst beds with the introduction, on the last catalyst bed, of oils of animal or vegetable origin for co-treating a mixture made up of oils of vegetable or animal origin and of petroleum cuts (gas oil cuts (GO) and middle distillates) in order to produce gas oil effluents meeting specifications with an improved cetane number. The first catalyst bed is dedicated to only the deep desulfurization reactions (HDS1) of a petroleum type feed. The effluents of the first catalyst bed having an effluent sulfur content below or equal to 50 mg/kg are separated into two streams. The first stream, which is predominant, is sent to the gas oil pool. The second stream is mixed with oils of vegetable or animal origin. The resultant oil-petroleum cut mixture is then subjected to a milder hydrotreatment (HDT2). The effluents obtained at the outlet of the second catalyst bed can optionally be mixed with the predominant stream from the first bed.

  • Publication number: 20080156694
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the treatment of heavy petroleum feedstocks in order to produce a gas oil fraction having a sulphur content of less than 50 ppm and generally 10 ppm which comprises the following stages: a) mild hydrocracking in a catalyst fixed bed, b) separation of the hydrogen sulphide, of a distillate cut including a gas oil fraction and of a fraction which is heavier than the gas oil, c) hydrotreating, by contact with at least one catalyst, of at least a portion of the said distillate cut obtained in stage b) including the gas oil fraction, as a mixture with a feedstock resulting from a crude or refined renewable source, d) separation of a gas oil cut comprising less than 50 ppm of sulphur. Advantageously, the heavy fraction is sent for catalytic cracking. Preferably, the process is carried out with makeup hydrogen introduced in stage c) and very advantageously all the makeup hydrogen for the process is introduced in stage c).

  • Publication number: 20080161614
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydrotreating method (HDT) using two plants working under different operating conditions with an intermediate stripping for co-treating a mixture made up of oils of vegetable or animal origin and petroleum cuts (gas oil cuts (GO) and middle distillates) in order to produce gas oil fuel bases meeting specifications. The first plant (HDT1) is more particularly dedicated to the reactions concerning oils of vegetable or animal origin in comixture while pretreating the hydrocarbon feed, whereas the second plant (HDS2) works under more severe conditions to obtain diesel fuel according to standards, in particular in terms of effluent sulfur content, density and cold properties. The process economy, the activity and the stability of the catalyst of the second plant are greatly improved by the intermediate stripping.

  • Publication number: 20080020926
Abstract: A process is described for preparing a solution formed by at least one cobalt and/or nickel salt of at least one heteropolyanion combining molybdenum and cobalt or molybdenum and nickel in its structure, said process comprising: a) mixing at least one source of molybdenum and at least one oxidizing compound in aqueous solution to synthesize peroxomolybdate ions at an acidic pH, the (oxidizing compound/molybdenum source) mole ratio being in the range 0.1 to 20; b) introducing at least one cobalt precursor and/or at least one nickel precursor into the solution from step a) to form a solution comprising at least said salt in which the (Co+Ni)/Mo mole ratio is in the range 0.25 to 0.85.
