  • Publication number: 20220341617
Abstract: Methods for assessing the overall energy efficiency of a building are provided including receiving data related to the plurality of HVAC systems from at one or more of the plurality of MRACs. The data related to the plurality of HVAC systems is associated with physical, structural and thermal properties (“properties”) of the building. The data related to the plurality of HVAC systems is organized by defining categories of relevant data related to the plurality of HVAC systems. The categories of relevant data are defined by one or more properties and/or operational characteristics of the building. The defined categories of relevant data are associated with a corresponding one or more of the plurality of MRACs. Each MRAC receives data that satisfy data in the defined categories associated therewith.

A hierarchy is created among the plurality of MRACs such that each increasing level of the hierarchy provides a more detailed assessment of energy efficiency for buildings in the defined category of relevant data.

  • Patent number: 8543161
Abstract: The wireless terminal selectively stores incoming voice calls and text messages in a common Answer List. The incoming transmissions may be added to the Answer List manually. If the “Answer List” menu option is selected, the incoming transmission data is logged into the Answer List and that entry is deleted from the Missed Call List, Text Message List or Call Log. In this manner, the incoming transmission data may be saved in only one location on the wireless terminal. An entry may also be saved to the Answer List from the wireless terminal's calendar application or web browser application. An entry may be deleted from the Answer List after the entry is responded to. This allows the user to enter wireless terminal related activities in the Answer List such that the list may also include entries that do not arise from an incoming transmission.

  • Patent number: 8203528
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for interpreting motion of a mobile communications device as input to the mobile communications device. The system includes a processor for executing the various software components, a display, a microphone, a speaker, storage means for storing one or more motions and associated actions, a motion detecting device, and a sensing and interpretation application. The sensing and interpretation application detects motion of the mobile communications device via the motion detecting device. It then determines the current mode of the mobile communications device and compares the detected motion against a database of motions. Each stored motion is associated with a mode and an action to be performed by the mobile communications device. Upon finding a match between the detected motion and a motion in the storage means, the action associated with the detected motion and the current mode of the mobile communications device is performed.

  • Publication number: 20090305682
Abstract: An improved system and method for displaying webpage content on a portable electronic device is provided. An entire webpage may be displayed in a display of the portable electronic device. Layout parameters may define a plurality of focus areas of content portions within the webpage. A user may select a focus area, and display settings may be applied to the focus area to provide an enhanced display of the focus area. In addition, the system may store the layout parameters and display settings for future application. When a user accesses a previously accessed webpage, or one similar to a previously accessed webpage, the stored layout parameters and display settings may be applied automatically. In this manner, an enhanced display of webpage content is provided with minimal user effort.

  • Publication number: 20090037846
Abstract: Display of menu items on a display of an electronic device, such as a cellphone or other portable device, is managed by defining first and second menus including respective first and second groups of menu items (e.g., graphic icons and/or text), wherein the first group of menu items is a subset of the second group of menu items. The device transitions from display of the first menu to display of the second menu responsive to user activation of a menu expansion function. Menu items may be organized responsive to user input.

  • Publication number: 20080132243
Abstract: A portable mobile communications device and method of providing location data of other portable mobile communications devices as icons on a map display is presented. An area of interest is shown as a map on the portable mobile communications device display. An application determines the on-line presence status of one or more other users having similarly equipped portable mobile communications devices. The geographical location data of the other portable mobile communications devices currently on-line is obtained from the mobile phone network infrastructure and inserted as an icon on the map to accurately represent their actual geographic location. The user can select an icon on the map to change the display to show additional data pertaining to the geographic location represented by the icon. Or, the user can change the display to present options for contacting the user associated with the icon which can be automatically launched if selected.

  • Publication number: 20040018857
Abstract: A method and apparatus for predictive dialing in a mobile terminal is disclosed. The present invention is intended to reduce the time and number of inputs required to initiate a connection from a mobile terminal. When initial characters of a network identifier (such as a phone number, e-mail address, or URL) are received, the present invention facilitates entry of the additional characters using a matching process. A search function attempts to match the entered characters with a plurality of network identifiers stored in the mobile terminal's memory. If matches are found, the results are displayed to the user. If the user enters additional characters, the search is repeated on the list of displayed results, and a new list of results is displayed. The process ends when either no matches are found or when the user makes a selection from the displayed results.
