    Abstract: A splash bar for use in a cooling tower includes bottom, top, first side and second side portions. The bottom portion has first and second edges and is configured to be supported by horizontal hanger support members of a splash bar hanger grid along a width between the first and second edges. The top portion has first and second edges and is arranged substantially parallel with the bottom portion. The first side portion extends from the first edge of the bottom portion to the first edge of the top portion and the second side portion extends from the second edge of the bottom portion to the second edge of the top portion. The first and second edges of the top portion are closer to one another than the first and second edges of the bottom portion. A plurality of openings are formed through each portions.
