Abstract: A machine which has a plurality of reciprocating work tools which may be selectively brought into operation, comprises, a plurality of tool holders, each adapted to hold a separate tool for reciprocative movement upwardly and downwardly, or a cooperating tool, for example, a moving punch, cooperating with a die. The machine advantageously includes sets of tool holders and dies which may be moved relatively to tool holders and dies of other sets so as to shift them relative to an operating mechanism for effecting reciprocation. The tools may be selectively positioned into coupling engagement with the reciprocating means so that some of the tools are not reciprocated and may, for example, be shifted or replaced.
