Abstract: A ride system having a frame (6), at least one passenger carrier (8) which for altering its height is guided along the frame (6) between an upper end position II and a lower end position I, a cable or chain pull (12) which at its first end (12a) is fastened to the passenger carrier (8) and is deflected round a first roller (14) supported on the frame (6) so that the passenger carrier (8) is suspended from the first roller (14) by means of the cable (12) or chain, and a driving mechanism (24, 26, 36, 44) to drive the cable or chain pull (12) for raising the passenger carrier (8) from its lower end position, (I) up to its upper end position (II).

Abstract: The passenger gondola of a looping swing suspended in pendulum fashion on motor-driven outriggers has parallel rows of passenger seats that are disposed parallel to the axis of rotation of the outriggers and to the axis of swing of the passenger gondola. Here, the head rests of the passenger seats are a short distance from the axis of swing, in order to hold the acceleration forces acting on the passengers, which occur with looping over of the passenger gondola.Preferably, the position of the passenger gondola relative to the outriggers is locked at a particular angular position. The ride activity is then operated such that the gondola locks in the tilted, forward direction of rotation, and locking is released at about the top dead point of outrigger rotation, so that the passenger gondola executes a loop on the outriggers overtaking it.

Abstract: A roller coaster system with a passenger carriage moved in a vertical plane on a circular path by means of a jib is driven starting from a central boss, with the aid of a concentric gear wheel on which a plurality of pinions act, each of the pinions driven by its own motor. The passenger carriage can be rigidly secured on the jib, so that the passengers are flung over head, or it may be articulated on the free end of the jib, flying laterally, in the manner of a somersault swing. In the latter case, the chain drive for parallel guidance of the passenger carriage can be removed, without dismantling, together with the jib when it is supported on the latter and coupled to a stationary central structural part with the aid of a set of gear wheels.
