  • Patent number: 7044158
Abstract: Continuous filtration systems comprising a venturi, flow control valves, filter and pump. In one specific embodiment the flow control valve and venturi are combined hereinafter referred to as a CHUF. The CHUF may also contain concentrate release, and temperature, flow and two pressure sensors into a single structure. A continuous filtration system for liquid or gas applications is constructed by plumbing a CHUF to a pump and filter. The CHUF is constructed of plastic, stainless steel or other materials. Different plumbing to the CHUF positions the filter in either series, parallel, or series and parallel with a venturi and flow control valve resulting in different pressures and flows at the filter. A single flow control valve simultaneously controls inflow and outflow of the filtration system. Additional flow control valves are used in a process to control pressure independent of flow at the filter.

  • Patent number: 5725758
Abstract: A filtration system and assembly for liquid mixture applications is disclosed. The system comprise of a pump, filter, venturi, and by-pass that incorporates a flow control valve. The flow control valve controls the flow and pressure of the retentate thereby determining the rate that permeate is produced. All components are configured in a closed loop configuration. System stability and high permeate flow result from the optimum selection of system components. The disclosed system has a simpler control system and is easier to operate than similar functioning systems in use. Applications exist in microfiltration, ultrafiltration, and nanofiltration.

  • Patent number: 4731180
Abstract: A water-solids separator including a casing forming a reservoir and having an inlet and an outlet, a perforated filter screen assembly positioned in said casing between said inlet and said outlet, an overflow weir in front of the outlet to define the depth of water in the reservoir, a baffle plate on the inlet side of said filter screen assembly to direct incoming water toward the filter screen assembly and a conveyor assembly on each side of the filter screen assembly for cleaning the surfaces of the filter screen assembly, each conveyor assembly including a number of wiper blade flights located in positions to move in abutting engagement across the surfaces of the filter screen assembly, each flight including a resilient wiper blade or brush to clean the perforations in the filter screen assembly.
