  • Patent number: 6090320
Abstract: A method of producing a sintered body (1) having different cross-sections along a main axis (5), in particular a toothed-belt or chain wheel, by compression moulding a sintering powder in the direction of the main axis (5) and subsequent sintering. At least two partial bodies (6, 7), which can be form-fitted into each other in the direction of the main axis (5), are pressed from sintering powder, which partial bodies each form an axial portion of the sintered body (1) with different cross-sections, and that the separately pressed and possibly presintered partial bodies (6, 7) are jointly sintered after joining them together.

  • Patent number: 5843484
Abstract: There is described a form tool for compression forming a molded body having a circular cylindrical through hole with at least one helical groove from a sintering powder, which form tool has a mantle (1) with an inserted mold core (2), which forms at least one flight (3) protruding against the mantle (1) for forming the groove of the molded body, and a ring-shaped plunger (6) engaging in the mold cavity (5) between the mantle (1) and the mold core (2). To create advantageous constructional conditions, it is proposed that the axial length of the flight (3) of the mold core (2) should correspond to the axial length of the molded body, and that the mold core (2) should have an axial web (4) continuing the flight (3), which axial web engages in an adapted axial groove of the ring-shaped plunger (6).

  • Patent number: 5701574
Abstract: A method of producing a sliding sleeve for a synchronizer of a speed-changing gear, the sliding sleeve being comprised of a sintered powder metal compact having a claw extending along an inner periphery of the sleeve, and the claw consisting of teeth having opposite end faces and a cross-section between the end faces which is reduced relative to an undercut portion at at least one of the end faces, which method comprises the steps of sintering the powder metal compact having the claw consisting of the teeth having the opposite end faces and the reduced cross-section extending between the end faces, and then applying solely an axial upsetting force to the one end face to form the undercut portion thereat while leaving the reduced cross-section unchanged.
