  • Patent number: 4738475
Abstract: The hose clamp for fire hoses on hose couplings comprises a nipple whereon the hose end is pushed. The hose end is pressed on the nipple via a radially resiliently compressible clamping sleeve by means of a clamping element against the outer surface of the nipple. The clamping sleeve comprises a conical outer face and the clamping element a conical inner face cooperating therewith. The clamping element consists of two generally semicylindrical clamping shells which are braced against each other at their peripheral ends by clamping screws which extend approximately tangentially through the wall thickness of the clamping shells. The nipple comprises an encircling annular collar which forms a radial abutment face for the hose end and the clamping sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4524997
Abstract: A hose coupling for connecting lengths of fire hose is formed by coupling halves. Each coupling half includes a hose connection piece and a cam ring rotatable relative to the hose connection piece. The cam rings provide a bayonet-type locking engagement. The hose connection piece has two serially arranged axially extending sections each of different diameters. The larger diameter section receives and holds a length of the fire hose. A neck on the cam ring is rotatably attached to the smaller diameter section. The neck on the cam ring is held on the smaller diameter section against movement in the axial direction. A resilient back-springing holding ring is located adjacent the free end of a smaller diameter section in a recess in the section. The holding ring in combination with the free end of the smaller diameter section forms an annular space in which a sealing ring for the coupling is secured.

  • Patent number: 4523778
Abstract: The invention relates to a hose coupling whose halves are held together by identical cam rings (Storz coupling). For the solution of the problem to construct the connections which are to be arranged in the halves of such couplings to be short and light and in one piece and consequently without sealing problems even when the outer diameter of the connection is as large or even larger than the diameter of the cylinder which is limited by the inside of the cams, the joining between the connection and the cam rings is of similar construction as in cam rings of coupled coupling halves in that the connection (3) at its end which is to be joined with a cam ring (1) has an extension (6) which extends radially outwardly, forms a stop and is preferably constructed as a collar. In the cam ring (1) a shoulder (9) of a recess (8) of angular cross-section which extends behind the cams (2) is provided as a counterstop for the extension.
