  • Patent number: 4836111
Abstract: A system for moving a robot manipulator being mounted on a carriage over a track system which includes a pair of rail carriers for rails and being interconnected to extend parallel to each other in spaced apart relationship; a carrier carriage runs on these rails with unequally large rollers and the manipulator carriage runs on a rail on the carrier carriage; all of the rails are mounted by means of a plurality of nonstraightness compensating support bars being adjustably bolted to the rail carriers, at least two per carrier, as well as on the carrier carriage and in aligned relationship as to each carrier to establish straight rail mounting facilities.

  • Patent number: 4634078
Abstract: A rope guide having a threaded guide segment and a threaded holding segment with a holddown device covering at least a part of a single rope loop on a grooved drum; the segments are made of a synthetic material and their threadings engage the groove of the drum; a slot forming element is fastened to the guide segment and the rope runs through the slot towards the drum; roller mounts are mounted by a pin on the guide segment and carry spring biased rollers forcing the rope into the drum groove.

  • Patent number: 4392434
Abstract: Disclosed is a turbulent waterway having boats guided in a trough extending between an uphill starting point and a downhill terminus, a chain conveyor having a series of links extending on a slope between said starting point and said terminus and adapted to travel upwardly therebetween, at least one locking bar with transverse grooves is adapted to mesh with the links of said chain conveyor supporting said links for sliding therealong.

  • Patent number: 4304187
Abstract: A monorail system having a rail surface that is provided for small vehicles traversing an incline or slippery areas, with the surface having a plurality of spaced recesses positioned in those areas to form gripping edges for the drive wheels of the vehicles. The recesses may be of a variety of shapes and positioned in different ways to provide the proper grip. The recesses may be mechanically punched into a separate elongated flat bed riveted in appropriate locations to the rail. The punching may be done in such a way so as to form raised ramp-like edges adjacent the recesses to help with the gripping action. The ramp faces face downwardly in inclined areas. The drive wheels of cooperating vehicles may have elastic treads to help with the gripping action.

  • Patent number: 4121702
Abstract: An emergency brake mechanism is provided, particularly for small railway cars such as those used for monorail systems, for braking a car released by failure of the motor and main braking system. The brake mechanism includes a brake shoe with tapered surfaces extending in opposite directions longitudinally of the path of movement of the car for wedging a brake pad between the shoe and the rail surface. The brake pad is pushed into engagement by a movable tappet, which in turn is released to move toward the rail surface by a centrifugal governor monitoring the speed of the car. The brake housing mounts the brake shoe on one side of the rail with a counter-brake surface on the opposite side.

  • Patent number: 3935822
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an improved trolley truck traveling on a monorail having spaced horizontal surfaces, in which a frame of the truck supports at least one supporting or traction wheel on the upper surface of the rail and a counterwheel on the lower surface of the rail, the separation of the wheels being greater than the vertical spacing of the horizontal rail surfaces to accommodate rapid and easy placement of the truck upon and/or removal of the truck from the monorail.
