  • Publication number: 20130338875
Abstract: A method for determining a power reserve of an electric drive, particularly for use in a drive train of a motor vehicle, having the steps: determining a power limit of the electric drive which forms the limit of the convertible power of the electric drive; recording a requested, provided or applied torque of the electric drive; determining a power reserve which forms a power that is implementable above the requested, provided or applied torque within the determined power limit of the electric drive; and displaying the power reserve using a display.

  • Patent number: 6794988
Abstract: A control device for a motor vehicle having a fingerprint scanning surface via which a fingerprint sensor detects a fingerprint in the form of a fingerprint signal of a user. Motor vehicle functions can be released as a function of the fingerprint signal. The motor vehicle functions can also be released by a key. A control element is provided with the fingerprint scanning surface and a mechanical receptacle for the key.

  • Patent number: 6686670
Abstract: An access- and starting/driving-authorization system for a motor vehicle, having a portable transponder and a control unit accomodated in the motor vehicle, in order to control the smart master-key system and the engine control unit. In inquiry/response dialogs, the transponder and the control unit enabling or blocking access to the motor vehicle, and the starting and driving of the motor vehicle, using sets of code information that are matched to each other. Starting and driving the motor vehicle after forcibly entering the motor vehicle and replacing the engine control unit, including a vehicle immobilizer and a transponder of the control units relevant for starting and driving, is prevented in that the enabling of the motor-vehicle to be started and driven, after a successful starting/driving-authorization inquiry/response dialog, is rendered dependent on a preceding, successful access-authorization inquiry/response dialog.

  • Patent number: 6650224
Abstract: An authorization checking system for motor vehicles, in which a control unit in the motor vehicle, having a portable user-transponder, in an inquiry-response dialog using data exchange, checks, and allows or blocks, the authorization for unlocking or locking the vehicle doors as well as for starting or driving. In order to be able to modify the identifiers of user-transponders and components of the motor vehicle in a security-relevant manner, a so-called master-transponder is provided in addition to one or a plurality of user-transponders. The master-transponder has a particular, vehicle-specific identifier, using which, in a special-inquiry-response dialog, the authorization to carry out and complete special functions within a preselected scope, going beyond the access and start/drive authorization, can be checked, and allowed or blocked. For carrying out the special functions, the master-transponder has acoustical and/or optical display devices and/or input devices.

  • Patent number: 6611193
Abstract: A vehicle security arrangement includes at least one functional control unit, which provides a first code word; a theft protection control unit, which is coupled via a bus to the at least one functional control unit; and at least one input unit, which transmits to the theft protection control unit a second code word which the theft protection control unit forwards to the at least one function control unit. The theft protection control unit may initiate the provision of the first code word and the second code word. In the at least one functional control unit, a comparison of the first code word of the at least one functional control unit with the second code word takes place. In case of agreement between the first code word and the second code word, the at least one functional control unit enables itself.

  • Patent number: 6522240
Abstract: A telecontrol device has a base station and control elements for influencing the base station. A storage arrangement is provided in control elements and in base station, information that assigns a control element to the base station being stored in the storage arrangement. A wireless signal-transmission link is formed between base station and control elements for carrying out telecontrol without contact. One control element is configured as the main control element. If it is in the range of the signal-transmission link, the assignment information stored in the storage arrangement can be changed.

  • Patent number: 6247343
Abstract: A device for locking and unlocking a door, in particular a motor vehicle door, has an electric lock and a door handle, with the transmission of query information to a portable electronic authorization ID means being initiatable via a control unit provided for the door when the door handle is operated out of the resting position in opposite directions, with the authorization ID means causing the transmission of identification information on receipt of the query information, and with the control unit comparing the identification information received with predetermined authorized identification information and, if it agrees with some of the predefined identification information, the locking of the door or its unlocking with the release of the catch is executed or canceled by controlling the electric lock.

  • Patent number: 5969597
Abstract: A method for preventing misuse of a transponder left inside a vehicle, which is part of a keyless vehicle access system and coacts with a control system for access and driving authorization located in the vehicle. The control system emits, in response to a locking command, a check signal by way of which it is ascertained whether transponders are still located in the vehicle interior after locking. Transponders which are detected as being located in the vehicle interior after locking are recorded in a memory associated with the control system. Upon a subsequent legitimate access to the vehicle, transponders that are not again detected in the interior are inhibited.

  • Patent number: 4217512
Abstract: A Wiegand wire is placed within the magnetic field generated by a first and second permanent magnet. The first permanent magnet has a field strength exceeding that of the second permanent magnet and the polarity of its magnetic field is opposite that of the second magnet. A rotor having segments of magnetic shielding alternating with slots is rotated between the Wiegand wire and the first magnet. When the magnetic shielding is between the first magnet and the Wiegand wire, the latter is exposed only to the magnetic field of the second permanent magnet. In a second position of the rotor, the Wiegand wire is exposed to both magnetic fields. Since the second permanent magnet generates a stronger field than the first, the direction of magnetization in the Wiegand wire changes abruptly causing a pulse to be generated in pick-up coil 4.
