  • Patent number: 6332056
Abstract: A video recorder, includes: a filter for performing a comb-filtering operation and supplying a comb-filtered component of a video signal; controllable influencing apparatus for terminating the output of the comb-filtered component and activating instead, the propagation of the non-filtered component; transition detection apparatus for detecting a vertically extending transition and supplying characteristic information upon detection of such a transition; control information generating apparatus, arranged between the transtion detection apparatus and the influencing apparatus, for generating control information enabling the termination of the output of the comb-filtered component and the activation of the propagation of the non-filtered component for a period of time which is longer than possible by means of the characteristic information.

  • Patent number: 6185359
Abstract: In a system (1) including a reproducing device (2) for reproducing color television signals recorded on a record carrier (7) in adjacent track portions in at least one normal reproducing mode and at least one special reproducing mode, which includes a color-television-signal-processing unit, and having color television receiving device (3) which includes a color signal demodulator (87) for demodulating the color signal (C) of the reproduced color television signals with the aid of switching information (SI) and a switching information generating unit (96) for generating the switching information (SI), and a control information generating unit (4) which generates control information (TI) upon the occurrence of a discontinuity in the reproduced color television signals, the control information generating unit (4) of the system (1) and the switching information generating unit (96) of the color television receiving device (3) are interconnected so as to cooperate with one another, and the control information (TI

  • Patent number: 5887112
Abstract: In a combination apparatus comprising a video-recorder section and a television-receiver section in a common housing and in which the video-recorder section comprises a pulse generation device for the generation of artificial V-pulses in a multi-speed reproduction mode and the television-receiver section comprises a vertical deflection signal generation device, an electrical connection has been provided between the pulse generation device and the vertical deflection signal generation device for directly applying the artificial V-pulses to the vertical deflection signal generation device.

  • Patent number: 5319466
Abstract: In a video recorder (1) for the recording and reproduction of picture signals in standard-play modes and long-play modes a reconverted picture color signal supplied by a frequency-conversion stage (70) is passed through a delay device (84) having a delay of one line period in order to compensate for reproduction-dependent time errors during multi-speed reproduction of a long-play recording. In such a video recorder (1) a rectangular detection signal of half the line frequency is supplied to an output (76) of a phase detection stage (73) which detects the phase of the burst signal in the reconverted picture color signal, which detection signal is applied, via a connection (91), to a modulator (36) for the modulation of non-modulated character signals as a control signal (S2) for the modulator (36), which generates modulated character signals suitable for insertion into the reproduced picture signals.

  • Patent number: 4745493
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for a color image recording and reproduction instrument(video recorder) or a color television receiver. Such devices have a phase regulation circuit in which an oscillator (18, 59) is controlled in accordance with the phase comparison between the color synchronization signal and a reference signal performed in a phase comparator circuit (9, 40). A control signal from the phase comparator circuit is applied to at least two scanning and locking units (12, 13; 49 to 52) which can be changed over successively and cyclically. These units scan the control signal during the color synchronization blanking time. The output signals of the scanning and locking units (12, 13; 49 to 52) are applied to an adder (16, 54) coupled to the oscillator (18, 59). The interference signals arising from the PAL changeover and superimposed on the control signal are thus eliminated.
