Patent number: 6852220Abstract: A filter press for filtering suspensions includes plural parallel filter plates that can be displaced relative to one another. In a filtering position, the filter plates are compressed to a package that forms a filter chamber provided with at least one filter cloth between neighboring filter plates. In a discharge position, neighboring filter plates are moved apart by a discharge distance so that a filter cake adhering to the filter cloth can be discharged. Every filter chamber is provided with at least one filling element for feeding the suspension to the filter chamber. The filling element is disposed on a protruding part that protrudes beyond a plate body face or contour and within a sealing edge on the periphery of the filter plates. In the filtering position, the filling elements are sealingly clamped between neighboring filter plates and form a suspension supply channel that extends through the filter plate package.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2000Date of Patent: February 8, 2005Assignee: Outokumpu OyjInventors: Karl Grafen, Hermann-Josef Spoelgen

Patent number: 6754927Abstract: A device (1) for detaching a filter cake which adheres to a filter cloth (4) of a filter press, comprising at least two deflection bodies (2, 3) around which the filter cloth (4) extends in an S-shaped manner and which can be moved in an approximately vertical direction, so that the S-shaped deflection brushes essentially completely over the adhering area of the filter cake. In order to achieve a complete detachment even in the case of filter cake which is not fully filtered out it is proposed filter cloth (4) extends in a sliding fashion during a relative movement between the same deflection bodies (2, 3) over a surface of one deflection body (3) and is provided with bend (8) in its course at a longitudinal edge (7) of said deflection body (3).Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 2002Date of Patent: June 29, 2004Assignee: Outokumpu OyjInventors: Wilhelm Claessen, Karl Grafen, Menrad Wesp

Patent number: 6626094Abstract: In a filter press, a stack of vertically oriented, horizontally displaceable filter plates enclose filter chambers therebetween. The filter plates are successively moved relative to each other from a closed pressing position, through a pressure relief position, to an open discharge position. At least one connecting element is connected to each filter plate, and is movably coupled to the respective adjacent filter plate by a coupling pin, which slides in a specially configured groove of the connecting element. In the relief position, a respective coupling pin is stopped against an intermediate blocking surface of the groove of the connecting element of the next adjacent filter plate, thereby preventing further horizontal displacement. By unlatching the connecting element, the coupling pin can then slide to a stop surface of the groove, to allow the adjacent filter plates to be displaced farther into the open discharge position.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 2002Date of Patent: September 30, 2003Assignee: Outokumpu OyjInventor: Karl Grafen

Patent number: 5243840Abstract: A textile treatment apparatus for an endless textile hank is comprised of a vessel having a dwell or treatment zone at a lower portion thereof and an upper acceleration or feed zone above said dwell zone. A blower assembly mounted in the roof the vessel above the acceleration zone advances the hank by subjecting said to a purely gaseous stream so as to remove the hank from the exit of the dwell zone and introduce it into the entrance of such zone. Treatment nozzles located at the entry to the dwell zone saturate the hank and aid in guiding it unimpeded into the dwell zone. The location of the blower assembly or assemblies at the upper extremity of the vessel facilitate servicing and minimize fluid introduction into the gaseous feed stream.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 1992Date of Patent: September 14, 1993Assignee: H. Patent number: 5217514Abstract: A filtering device for a tenter for the gaseous treatment of fabrics includes a movable filtering belt which traverses the entire length and cross section of the tenter. Pressure nozzles on the clean side of the belt dislodge collected materials into waste collectors which are in communication with discharge dusts traversed by the belt, the belt thus filters gases returned for internal circulation and gases emitted to the atmosphere.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1991Date of Patent: June 8, 1993Assignee: H. Krantz GmbH & Co.Inventors: Karl Grafen, Theo Schiffers

Patent number: 5139848Abstract: A combination section consisting of a base section (1) and a covering section (2). The covering section (2) is of an anti-friction material having a coefficient of expansion deviating from that of the material of the base section (1), and is divided between fastening points into partial lengths (4). The partial lengths (4) are interconnected by deformable bridges (6). This makes it possible for the partial lengths (4) to expand essentially unhindered, independent of the expansion of the base section (1) to a different extent.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 1991Date of Patent: August 18, 1992Assignee: H. Krantz GmbH & Co.Inventors: Karl Grafen, Hans Cramer

Patent number: 5134805Abstract: A fabric tenter device having a pivotally mounted roof which may carry a nozzle box is provided with a counterbalance assembly enabling the roof and box to be pivotally shifted from the tenter covering to an open position by manual lifting forces. The counterbalance assembly is comprised of a lever divided into two arms, the lever being pivotally mounted on a fulcrum fixed to the tenter housing. The lever includes a weight arm underlying the roof and a power arm to the opposite side of the fulcrum. A chain having one end fixed to the power arm has its other end attached to a spring mechanism carried by the weight arm, the chain being arranged over a guide roller or rollers in such manner that the spring is tensioned to its maximum extent when the roof is in the tenter covering position.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1991Date of Patent: August 4, 1992Assignee: H. Patent number: 4780965Abstract: Exhaust gases from a heat treatment device operated by a gaseous treatment medium, are cleaned by oxidizing the combustible components of the medium. The exhaust gases already cleaned are used in a first heat exchanger for preheating the gases to be cleaned. The cleaned and heated exhaust gases are then passed through a second heat exchanger for heating a heat carrier medium in a first closed heat carrier circuit connected to the treatment device. The exhaust gases coming from the second heat exchanger are supplied to a third heat exchanger connected to a fourth heat exchanger by a second closed heat carrier circuit for transferring heat to a second carrier medium for heating freshly supplied treatment medium in said fourth heat exchanger.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1987Date of Patent: November 1, 1988Assignee: H.
