  • Patent number: 4779588
Abstract: An air-cooled multi-cylinder internal combustion engine in which cooling air flows through a cylinder row transversely to the cylinders. A one-piece deflection part made of light-metal or plastic material and covering all cylinders is arranged as air guide device at the cooling air discharge side.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 15, 1987
Date of Patent: October 25, 1988
Assignee: Dr. Ing. h.c.F. Porsche Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Gerhard Ziegler, Karl Gregotsch, Walter Mittermeier
  • Patent number: 4680493
Abstract: A ventilating arrangement for a vehicle generator is proposed where a rotor-stator unit is arranged in a housing equipped with air-guiding ducts. A fan wheel is connected in front of this rotor-stator unit which by means of a pulley is drivingly held on a shaft of the rotor. The pulley is developed as an air delivery wheel and comprises supporting ribs forming radial guide blades. The air delivery wheel serves to partially compress and assist the air flow to the fan wheel.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 24, 1985
Date of Patent: July 14, 1987
Assignee: Dr. Ing. h.c.F. Porsche Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Gerhard Ziegler, Karl Gregotsch, Rudolf Herrmann
  • Patent number: 4640240
Abstract: An arrangement for limiting radial thermal expansions of cylinders in a reciprocating piston internal combustion engine by way of control elements, each of which includes a ring-shaped clamping member, which are provided within the areas of maximum alternating abutment pulses of the piston at the cylinder and consist of a material with a smaller thermal expansion coefficient than the cylinder.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 28, 1984
Date of Patent: February 3, 1987
    Assignee: Dr. Ing.H.c.f. Porsche Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Gerhard Ziegler, Karl Gregotsch, Rolf von Sivers
  • Patent number: 4563984
Abstract: A suction pipe apparatus for an internal-combustion engine with fuel injection, especially intermittent fuel injection into intake pipes connected to the cylinder head of the engine. The intake pipes are connected to the cylinder head by a flanged, structure-borne-noise-insulating connecting pipe made from an elastomer. A sleeve-shaped portion for receiving a fuel injection valve is also provided at the connecting pipe. The sleeve-like portion encapsulates the valve to reduce noise emissions. The flange of the connecting pipe is provided with a reinforcing member to enhance the integrity and durability of the connection.
