  • Patent number: 8711049
Abstract: For safety reasons the potential of an electrical supply line of a radar sensor should be separate from the potential of the filling level container. An arrangement for potential separation for a filling level radar is provided, which arrangement comprises a separation element for insulating the waveguide from the antenna. The separation element, corresponding to the cross section of the waveguide, is ring shaped. In this way rotatability between the sensor housing and the antenna subassembly is provided without influencing the signal line between the antenna and the waveguide.

  • Patent number: 8701483
Abstract: A measuring device is for determining a separating layer or a mixing ratio in a container. The measuring device comprises two fill-level measuring apparatuses that acquire the echo curves in a standpipe and outside the standpipe, respectively. • Patent number: 8670950
Abstract: The invention relates to false echo storage in the area of level measurement. The decision as to whether or not to initialize and/or update the false echo memory is made using at least one value for the sensor-inherent noise, container noise and/or EMC noise for this purpose. This may make it possible to avoid identifying a false echo as the level echo.

  • Patent number: 8655605
Abstract: Detecting the mobility of a fill level echo according to the following steps. The echo characteristic of a first echo of the echo curve and an echo characteristic of a second echo of the echo curve are determined. This is followed by calculation of a mobility value of the second echo with the use of the first echo characteristic. In this way a situation can be achieved in which the differences in the mobility values of echoes relating to the fill level and those echoes that are due to container internals become greater.

  • Publication number: 20140026651
Abstract: Described are a delay-based fill-level measurement device and a delay-based fill-level measurement method, in which the echoes of successive echo curves are grouped and combined into tracks. Subsequently, the linear relationship between two tracks is determined and this linear relationship is used so as to determine one or more unknowns therefrom. From this, for example the dielectric constant of the filling medium, the container depth or probe length of a probe of the device or the position of an expected echo can be derived.

  • Publication number: 20120324994
Abstract: For calculating the fill level in a container two echo curves are acquired that image the reflection conditions along two different measuring paths. On their way to the filling material surface or the separating layer surface the corresponding measuring signals cover different electrical distances. From the two echo curves a characteristic value can be calculated that reflects a physical characteristic of the covering medium. From this, the fill level can then be determined with increased accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20100307251
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for finding, extracting and for providing of echoes with detail functions are described. In particular, an echo extraction method for extracting an echo from an echo function is described. The method comprises receiving the echo function and decomposing the echo function in at least one detail function. The at least one detail function comprises a plurality of first coefficients. Each of the at least one detail functions represents a different degree of detail of the echo function. The degree of detail relates to a form of a base function. Furthermore, the method comprises eliminating at least one of the plurality of first coefficients and applying a reconstruction regulation or scheme, which depends on the form of the base function, for generating a smoothed echo function. Thereafter, at least one echo is determined from the smoothed echo function.
