  • Patent number: 4505213
Abstract: A hand operable chain stitch sewing machine is provided with a top work feeding arrangement wherein a feed dog is moved away from a stop to engage and move a work piece under a sewing needle. The stop is adjustable and may be positioned with an operator's control to predetermine stitch length.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 16, 1984
Date of Patent: March 19, 1985
    Assignee: The Singer Company
    Inventor: Karl H. Killinger
  • Patent number: 4503791
Abstract: A chain stitch sewing machine including a looper and cam assembly with cam tracks engageable by an actuator, a gate pivotally mounted on the assembly and a spring with one free end to engage and move the gate into positions controlling actuator movement between the tracks is provided with camming surfaces on a fixed member for lifting the free end of the spring to the top of the gate for passage from one side to the other.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 16, 1984

  • Patent number: 4497268
Abstract: A hand operable chain stitch sewing machine is provided with a top work feeding arrangement wherein a feed dog is mounted for pivotal movement about mutually perpendicular axes. The feed dog is moved about one such axis to engage a workpiece, and about the other axis to displace a work piece relative to a sewing needle.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: February 5, 1985
    Assignee: The Singer Company
    Inventor: Karl H. Killinger
  • Patent number: 4463695
Abstract: A chain stitch sewing machine including a double pointed looper is provided with feeding mechanism in which looper motion is used in conjunction with needle motion to control the movement of work under the needle of the machine.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 28, 1983
Date of Patent: August 7, 1984
    Assignee: The Singer Company

  • Patent number: 4411210
Abstract: An actuating mechanism for a double pointed looper wherein the vertical reciprocating motion of a drive pin is converted into a controlled back and forth pivoting motion of the looper in a single thread chain stitch sewing machine.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 17, 1981
Date of Patent: October 25, 1983
    Assignee: The Singer Company

  • Patent number: 4372234
Abstract: A machine forming stitches invisible on one work face, with curved needle, looper, work feed, and associated drive mechanisms arranged beneath the work. After convenient assembly of these mechanisms on bosses rising from a frame base, a frame cover is attached carrying a presser and a device for forming a work ridge in the needle path. A compartment extending across this machine front is formed within the frame to accommodate the needle thread supply and controls.

  • Patent number: 4275675
Abstract: A bobbin case for use in machines having underbed thread trimmers incorporates a thread guide consisting of a piano wire soldered to the cylindrical skirt of the case in the region between the leaf tension spring and the point at which the thread is cut by the trimming blade. A groove is formed under and partly through the wire and also partly through the cylindrical skirt. The groove is directed at an angle to the longitudinal direction of the skirt such as to place the groove in line with the direction of movement of the thread to facilitate smooth thread handling.
