  • Patent number: 8488769
Abstract: Call center agent training is provided on a non-scheduled basis and is characterized as having a duration that is less than a scheduling interval used to schedule the agent for their work shift, as well as schedule other activities in the work shift. The delivery of snippet training content may be triggered by various conditions, including in response to: a request for training originating from the agent, a period of continuous call processing activity of the agent, various agent performance metrics, or probabilistically assigned to an agent in a group. Various parameters may selectively limit provision of a snippet training session. The agents provided with training are placed in an unavailable state prior to the snippet training session, and placed back into an available state afterwards. The snippet training content may be variously structured and can be grouped together to form an e-learning course delivered to the agent.

  • Publication number: 20040203909
Abstract: A wireless system provides location dependent information to a user upon request by the user. The user request typically includes location information, user identification information, and a service indication. The network identifies the type of information to be provided, obtains the information as necessary from an information service provider, and downloads the information. The information downloaded depends at least on the geographical location of the user as well as information contained in the user's service profile. Downloaded information may include text, graphical, audio, or a combination of types. Further interactions with the user are defined by the information service invoked. A typical application would allow a mobile telephone user standing near a movie theater to receive information regarding a movie showing and purchase tickets to a particular movie.

  • Patent number: 6356756
Abstract: A method and system for routing calls to a wireless platform uses local number portability searches to achieve advanced intelligent network capabilities. The method and system of the present invention “ports” wireless subscriber numbers to a number for a platform providing a specific service. When a caller dials the subscriber's wireless number, a switch determines whether the number is portable. Since the number has been ported, the switch launches a query to a local number portability service control point to obtain additional routing instructions. The service control point accesses a local number portability database to determine the proper routing number. The new routing number allows calls to be routed to a service platform in the wireless network. The service control point transfers the routing number to the switch which then translates the routing number to a directory number for the platform. The call is then routed to the platform.

  • Patent number: 6259914
Abstract: A method and apparatus for implementing international wireless roaming allows an international “roamer” to enter a visited system in a foreign country and originate calls. Upon entering the visited region, the roamer's mobile station initiates a registration request containing the mobile station's mobile identification number to the mobile switching center in the visited region. The mobile switching center initiates a message to an appropriate home location register. The home location register compares the mobile station's mobile identification number to a set of stored values. If an agreement is in place between the home location register provider and the roamer's home service provider, the home location register will return an appropriately formatted North American Numbering Plan mobile directory number to the mobile switching center.

  • Patent number: 6240293
Abstract: A system for processing wireless calls allows subscribers to port from one wireless service provider to another. Each mobile switching center stores a table containing a list of office codes for various directory numbers. Each office code in the table has a corresponding entry that indicates the portability of the office code. In addition, each office code has a corresponding entry that indicates whether the office code was originally assigned to the mobile switching center. When a call made to a directory number is routed to the mobile switching center, the switch accesses the table and references the office code of the directory number. If the office code is not portable and not originally assigned to the switch, the switch routes the call to the switch servicing the call. If the office code is not portable but originally assigned to the switch, the switch accesses a Home Location Register to determine the current status of the subscriber.

  • Patent number: 4481695
Abstract: A connection unit, which may be undone, for rope ends and more particularly ropes in the form of belts for driving systems, rope conveyors or ropes for lifting loads has, as part of a preferred example, a plate with two rope keepers supported on pins and which keep the rope ends in position thereon by way of stops. These rope end keepers or takeup parts are designed so that they may be turned and locked in position so that, dependent on the direction of turning, the rope may be taken up and made shorter or let off and made longer. The plate, as part of a further example of the invention, has guide parts for positively guiding the rope end and furthermore there is a guiding structure, designed to match the form of a driving sheave so that it may be run thereover.

  • Patent number: 4227609
Abstract: A bucket conveyor comprises a drive pulley and at least one guide pulley with endless traction cable means engaged over the guide pulley and the drive pulley. A bucket member or a conveyor trough has an axle thereon on each side and with a pulley on the axle. In one embodiment the pulley is pivotal on the axle and in another embodiment the pulley is fixed on the axle. In addition, the construction includes a guide pin on the trough on each side of the axle and the endless traction cable is trained around each guide pin and has a loop engaged over the pulley between the pins. In this manner the endless cable is guided between the drive pulley and the guide pulley and around the pin of each bucket and over the bucket pulley on an axle of the bucket and around the pin on the opposite side of the bucket pulley. The construction is applicable both for a fixed bucket in respect to the traction cable or a bucket that pivots or swings in respect thereto and in which the bucket pulley is rotatable on its bucket axle.
