  • Patent number: 4920151
Abstract: The microbicidal agents consist esentially of 5 to 50% by weight of the salt of an alkyl-di-guanidine of the formula ##STR1## in which R' and R" denote hydrogen or C.sub.8 -C.sub.18 -alkyl, and R' and R" may not simultaneously be hydrogen, m denotes a number from 2 to 6 and n denotes 0 to 1, 5 to 50% by weight of a quaternary ammonium compound of the formula ##STR2## in which R.sup.1 denotes C.sub.8 -C.sub.22 -alkyl or C.sub.8 -C.sub.22 -alkenyl, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 denote C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 -hydroxyalkyl and R.sup.4 denotes hydrogen or methyl, or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 denote C.sub.8 -C.sub.12 -alkyl, R.sup.3 denotes C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 -hydroxyalkyl and R.sup.4 denotes hydrogen or methyl, X in both cases denotes a number from 1 to 3, preferably from 1 to 2 and in particular 1,5, and A.sup..crclbar.

  • Patent number: 4584121
Abstract: Amphoteric compounds of the formula ##STR1## and their mixtures with compounds of the formulaR.sup.2 --NH--(CH.sub.2).sub.d --NH--(CH.sub.2).sub.e --COOH . y HA (II)and, where appropriate, of the formula ##STR2## in which R.sup.1 =R.sup.2 =R.sup.3 and is an alkyl or alkenyl radical having 8 to 22 carbon atoms; A is the anion of a mineral or carboxylic acid; a and b are 2 or 3; c is 1 or 2; x is 0, 1, 2 or 3; d is 3; e is 1 or 2; y is 0, 1 or 2; f and g are 2 or 3; h and i are 1 or 2; and z is 0, 1, 2 or 3, and processes for the preparation of these compounds and mixtures are described. They have microbicidal properties and are suitable as disinfectant cleaning agents.

  • Patent number: 4339459
Abstract: Guanidiunium salts of the formula 1 ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are identical or different and denote alkyl, 2-hydroxyalkyl or alkenyl each having from 8 to 18 carbon atoms, or C.sub.8 -C.sub.18 alkoxypropyl, m and n are 2 or 3, a is a number from 1 to 4 and A denotes an anion, process for their manufacture and their use as microbiocidal agents.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 15, 1980
Date of Patent: July 13, 1982

  • Patent number: 4129506
Abstract: Fabric softening compositions in the form of liquid, aqueous dispersions, containing a condensation product of 1 to 1.5 mols of fatty acid or of a fatty acid ester of the formula Ir--co.sub.2 x (i)in which R is an aliphatic radical having about 11 to 21 carbon atoms and X is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, and 1 mol of an alkylpropylenediaminoxalkylate of the formula II ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 is an aliphatic radical having 12 to 22 carbon atoms and R.sub.2 is hydrogen or methyl and x, y and z are 0 or 1, the sum of x, y and z being 1 to 2; and a cationic disinfectant. In addition to their softening properties and on account of their content of quaternary ammonium compounds having disinfecting properties, the fabric softeners of the invention have antimicrobial action.
