Patent number: 11974966Abstract: A medical product includes a bladder, a filtration device, and a sterile product concentrate. The bladder has a perimeter seal and defining a sterile chamber. The filtration device includes a stem and a filter membrane disposed in line with the stem. The stem extends through the perimeter seal and has an inlet end accessible from outside of the perimeter seal and an outlet end in fluid communication with the sterile chamber. The filter membrane can have a nominal pore size in a range of approximately 0.1 ?m to approximately 0.5 ?m, wherein the filter membrane is shaped as a hollow fiber with a wall and pores residing in the wall of the fiber. The sterile product concentrate is disposed in the sterile chamber and adapted to be reconstituted by the introduction of a pharmaceutical fluid into the chamber through the filtration device.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2018Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignees: BAXTER INTERNATIONAL INC., BAXTER HEALTHCARE SAInventors: David Filiberto Schuck, Karl Hans Cazzini, Yuanpang Samuel Ding, Ying-Cheng Lo, Grant Anthony Bomgaars, Thomas Edward Dudar, Mark Edward Pasmore, Bernd Krause, Michael Joseph Sadowski, Anastasios Hristakos, Joseph Vincent Ranalletta

Patent number: 11851222Abstract: A method for producing sterile solution product bags includes positioning a manifold assembly onto a filling machine. The manifold assembly includes a plurality of bags, a first filter, and a connection line in fluid communication with the first filter. Each of the plurality of bags includes a bladder and a stem in fluid communication with the bladder and with the connection line. The method includes activating a pump and at least partially filling one or more of the bladders by pumping fluid through the feed line, the first filter, and the connection line. The method includes sealing the stem of each of the filled product bags at a location between the connection line and the bladder, thereby creating one or more at least partially filled and sealed product bags. The method includes separating each of the at least partially filled and sealed product bags from the connection line.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2021Date of Patent: December 26, 2023Assignees: BAXTER INTERNATIONAL INC., BAXTER HEALTHCARE SAInventors: Joseph John Kircher, Karl Hans Cazzini, James Mitchell White, Julien Beauquet

Publication number: 20200222281Abstract: A sterile product bag includes a bladder, a stem, a filter, and a vial adaptor. The bladder has a perimeter seal and defining a sterile chamber. The stem extends through the perimeter seal and has an inlet end outside of the perimeter seal and an outlet end in fluid communication with the chamber. The filter is disposed in line with the stem and has a filter membrane with a nominal pore size in a range of approximately 0.1 ?m to approximately 0.5 ?m. The filter membrane is shaped as a hollow fiber with a wall and pores residing in the wall of the fiber. The vial adaptor includes a sterile hollow cannula, a sheath, and a peelable closure. The cannula is in fluid communication with the chamber of the bladder. The sheath is disposed outside of the bladder and connected to the hollow cannula. The sheath includes an interior cavity into which the hollow cannula extends. The peelable closure extends across an opening of the sheath to seal the interior cavity.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 12, 2018Publication date: July 16, 2020Inventors: Yuanpang Samuel Ding, Ying-Cheng Lo, Mark Joseph Doty, David Filiberto Schuck, Karl Hans Cazzini, Grant Anthony Bomgaars, Bernd Krause, Thomas Edward Dudar, Mark Edward Pasmore, Michael Joseph Sadowski, Anastasios Hristakos, Joseph Vincent Ranalletta

Patent number: 7972287Abstract: The present invention is directed to a device that provides thermal energy therapy, compression therapy and negative pressure therapy simultaneously and/or in conjunction with each therapy. The outcome of the present invention is that a patient's bodily fluids can be maintained, controlled, and/or adjusted with decreased medication dependence. Using these three therapies individually does not obtain these desired results of controlling, maintaining or adjusting the patient's bodily fluid. This combination of therapies is beneficial to the patient.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2006Date of Patent: July 5, 2011Assignee: Gaymar Industries, Inc.Inventors: Thomas P. Stewart, Karl Hans Cazzini, Donald Woodworth

Publication number: 20080077205Abstract: The present invention is directed to using a thermoregulatory sensor in conjunction with a cooling-normothermic-heating device that applies a desired thermal energy to a target heat exchange surface of a mammal that is under negative pressure. The thermoregulatory sensor, unlike the prior art, does not initiate and/or control the thermal energy applied to the mammal. Instead the thermoregulatory sensor initiates, controls and/or manages the negative pressure applied to the target heat exchange surface. By initiating, controlling and/or managing the negative pressure, (1) the vasodilation of the target heat exchange surface is also controlled and/or managed and/or (2) thermal communion between the exchange surfaces (skin and heat exchanger) is controlled, and/or managed.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2006Publication date: March 27, 2008Inventor: Karl Hans Cazzini
