Abstract: A solid dosage form is provided which includes an active agent and silicified microcrystalline cellulose, the dosage form formed by a) combining a wetted active agent with dry silicified microcrystalline cellulose in a dryer to form agglomerated particles; and b) incorporating the agglomerated particles into the solid dosage form. In certain preferred embodiments, step b comprises combining said silicified microcrystalline cellulose, said active agent, and colloidal silicon dioxide in a dryer. Preferably, the dryer is a spray dryer, and, in certain embodiments, the active agent may be an herbal extract.
